Do facemasks protect against COVID‐19? (nih.gov)

During the 2009 pandemic of H1N1 influenza (swine flu), encouraging the public to wash their hands reduced the incidence of infection significantly whereas wearing facemasks did not. 5 There is no good evidence that facemasks protect the public against infection with respiratory viruses, including COVID‐19. 6

WTH are people arguing about vaccinated or unvaccinated, indoors or outdoors, young or old, in high incidence areas or not? It doesn't make any difference. Masks do not protect either the wearer or others from viruses, period.

This is from a government agency, the National Institute for Health. Is there no senator or congressman, no governor, no reporter (not even Fox) who will ask "President* Biden, or Nancy Pelosi, or Anthony Fauxci, why they are not following the science from their own National Institute of Health?

You just cannot go throwing facts around like that, how will the tyrants fool the masses.

Also - the resident AZS troll's will start making fun of you :D

First, this doesn’t mention if any actual studies have been done to prove/disprove. Normally is scientific studies have been done, they mention the effectiveness of masks the study. So by this verbiage it would only lead me to believe is that no studies have been done, so there is no evidence either way. That being said, Japan has done studies and show that wearing masks do make a difference to varying degrees of inhaling the virus, depending on what they are made of.

Secondly, this talks about masks preventing infection. Meaning does wearing a mask keep the virus from you if you are not currently infected. The real benefit of masks is keeping you from spreading it if you are infected.

Went to see my Dr., they took my temperature through a partly open door before admittance, theatre I say. Remember those M16 toting national guard guys at airport, theatre I say.

It's not about masks,

Ii's about Control.

But they “might” help so why not use em

Out of all the stupid that has come from this plandemic the mask bs has got to be the worst

Someone will get an infection some wont even know it before they attend their next 100%vaxxed event.

I have not confirmed but a number of people are quoting this as real:

When the pandemic began there was 1 person worth $100 billion
Now there are 9
When the pandemic began the 10 richest people had $695 billion
Now they have $1.36 trillion

While people struggle to put food on the table amid the pandemic, billionaires are getting richer.

The day when people realize this is a business, it'll be too late.

Maybe a 5-minute Google search (very restrictive on allowable information) would help people to understand this situation.....
Face masks
Many people can now be seen in public wearing face masks. From 15 June 2020, face coverings became mandatory on public transportation. What is the evidence for their use? Currently there seems to be no strong medical consensus on whether face masks actually help.

Physics professor Denis Rancourt published a paper on the science relevant to face masks. After reviewing randomised controlled trial studies with measured outcomes over the last decade, he found that none showed statistically significant advantage to wearing a mask.

Nevertheless some proponents make the claim that masks are valuable for preventing asymptomatic carriers from spreading COVID-19. However, before their unexpected turnaround, the WHO stated that healthy people only need to wear a mask when taking care of a person with COVID-19. Despite claims to the contrary, the science on face masks has not changed.

Further, there seems to be growing evidence that wearing masks at best gives a false sense of security and at worst end up making healthy people more susceptible to getting sick. Dr. Jenny Harries, the UK’s deputy chief medical officer, warned that masks could increase risk of infection:

“For the average member of the public walking down a street, it is not a good idea…In fact, you can actually trap the virus in the mask and start breathing it in. Because of these behavioural issues, people can adversely put themselves at more risk than less.”

Masks Don’t Work: A Review of Science Relevant to COVID-19 Social Policy
https://www.rcreader.com/commentary/masks-dont-work-covid-a-review-of-science-relevant-to-covide-19-social-policy

The recommendation to wear surgical masks to supplement other public health measures did not reduce the SARS-CoV-2 infection rate among wearers by more than 50% in a community with modest infection rates, some degree of social distancing, and uncommon general mask use. The data were compatible with lesser degrees of self-protection.

Mask mandates and use are not associated with slower state-level COVID-19 spread during COVID-19 growth surges.
https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.05.18.21257385v1

In fact, it is not unreasonable at this time to conclude that surgical and cloth masks, used as they currently are, have absolutely no impact on controlling the transmission of Covid-19 virus, and current evidence implies that face masks can be actually harmful.

It boggles my mind when there is some notion that by wearing a face covering you are actually doing a “service” to your neighbor and therefore everyone has to protect everyone by this. Actually, the opposite is true. You are now becoming an additional potential source of environmental contamination. You are now becoming a transmission risk; not only are you increasing your own risk but you are also increasing the risk to others.

I have dozens more if needed. But you do you, just don't contaminate the others.

Joriah was wearing a mask in class, but his parents claim most of the other kids were not. "Even though our life right now can't be normal, like maybe we could get our kids back to school," said Jamie Winn, "because they just wanted it so bad."

No comments on if the kid had symptoms only came into “contact”. Sorry for the mother going through cancer. That shit sucks.
