I'm not a Magpul fanboy, although I do use some of their products. And have been thrilled with their willingness to move out of Colorado very publicly over principles.

Earlier this year, i was trying to adjust a Magpul BUIS out in the forest when the damned nut for the rail clamp screw few into the dirt and was lost forever. I finally got around to locating a replacement nut at the hardware store. I was willing to have a zinc or stainless steel one rather than black. No biggie.

But wouldn't you know it; the nuts at every hardware or home improvement store of the appropriate thread were all too large of a hexagon in outside diameter to fit into the nut recess on the BUIS. I was just gonna have to visit Magpul's website and order their (I expected to be) overpriced specialty nut for a ridiculous amount, plus shipping.

But as I perused Magpul's website looking to find that one little item, it just wasn't listed. Oh joy. I sent an email to their customer service department via the contact portal requesting what it would cost.

To my excited relief, Clark, one of their employees, replied he would mail me one for free! Awesome, dudes. Thanks.

But last week, I get a small package from Magpul. I was a little puzzled, because a simple nut can be sent in an envelope. What would require a box? Upon openning, not only is there my replacement nut AND bolt, but Clark decided to also send me a cold weather beanie (with Magpul logo, of course).

It is refreshing on its own when a company sends you a simple part for free. Its all together cool when they send bonus free practical stuff!

I'm outside tonite, wearing my new Magpul beanie, enjoying its warmth, and decided I just needed to share this.

I am now a Magpul fan, if not a fanboy.

That's not all. I just went to the Magpul website to buy a beanie, and it's not listed. You got a rare item!

Magpul does that all the time for me when customers lose stuff. They send me tons of extras of the part and bunches of sticker packs and extras. I love Magpul customer service.

That's awesome to know. I almost never think about contacting the company for parts instead like what you did try finding parts from the hardware store lol.

You think that this would be more common, as it totally works. When a company treats me like I matter as a customer, they keep getting my money. I don't even usually get mad about poor customer service anymore, but do always take my business elsewhere.

I know "fanboi" is a negative term, but when dealing with a company that has a proven customer service track record like Magpul (I have heard about many instances like the OP's over the years) I think being a bit of a "fanboi" is completely acceptable.

I have dealt with magpul a couple times and have always had friendly service as well. I agree, they are doing it right!

Good to hear that they do the right thing and then go the reasonable extra mile to keep customers happy.
