PLEASANTON — A man was arrested late Friday after allegedly firing a rifle more than 100 times inside his own home, police said.

Just after 10 p.m., Pleasanton police were called to a home on Arroyo Court, off Foothill Road, for reports of shots fired, police said Saturday.

The man was alone in the house, and no one was injured, police said, but several bullets hit nearby homes.

He will be evaluated by a mental health team and booked into Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of discharging a firearm in an inhabited dwelling. Anyone with information about the shooting may contact Pleasanton police at 925-931-5100.
