Any Daisy enthusiasts on this board?

An elderly friend of my folks is considering getting rid of her last remaining firearm. It's a legacy by Daisy 22LR with the plastic stock and the 10 round rotary box magazine.

I only know what I've Googled about these rifles. She's asked me to take a look at it for her, has it belonged to her late husband and she does not know much about it. Any suggestions on what I should be looking for in terms of functionality in this rifle?

I remember those. They came in three variations I seem to recall. I still have a single shot I bought for my son. The receivers seem to be castings, almost pot metal in appearance. Ours is pretty loosey goosey, the plastic and metal have only a tenuous relationship. Still shoots though. Lasted long enough I guess. Kid must be about 30 now lol.

It does appear there are several variations based on what I'm finding online. A single shot, a seven-shot semi-automatic, and a bolt action, box round 10 mag version.

Looks like there are quite a few of them on GunBroker, but I can't tell if any of them sell it or not, so don't want to give her the impression it's worth any money if I can't help her sell it for a reasonable price.

They aren't worth a lot. I got bit by a "weird 22 guns" bug a few years ago and picked up a single shot. I was keeping track of the various models on GB for awhile and the only ones that seemed to sell were the untouched, LNIB, time capsule examples. Seemed like the used ones just sat there forever, especially the semis.

It worked (kind of hard to screw up a single shot) but I found myself passing it up for my Ithaca M-49s. I broke even on it, although I wouldn't mind getting another...hmm. Anyways, the black disk in the stock is actually a button, push in and pull out the butt plate to adjust the LOP, most people overlook that feature.

Thanks for the info, I'll let her know. Anyone dying to have this thing? I can go over and get a picture or two.

I don't know about dying but I wouldn't mind some pictures. One thing I forgot to mention was that daisy marketed these as takedowns. They technically are, but not very good at it. The collar that sits on the rear of the barrel to screw in can be goobered up big time from carelessness and over torquing can lead it to be stripped. If it looks clean it was probably never touched, they came assembled in the box with the tool.

Here are a few photos. The thing is in almost new condition. Judging by the ancient box of 22LR that came with it and the 7 rounds in the magazine, this thing may have only been shot as much as three times.

Pics ups!

Looks to be in great condition. Those aluminum alloy receivers lose their original finish pretty easily, like the Ithaca M49s. If it's intact you know it's been hardly used (or refinished). On GB, looks like there is a fairly used single shot for 70 on the low end and a "time capsule" 2202 w/ box, tags, etc for 390 on the high end. Don't see any examples with bids. Any idea what she's looking to get out of it?

I'm not sure if she has a real price in mind, or if after all of this she'll just put it back in the corner of the closet for another 10 years. I'll ask if she has a target (pun intended) in mind. When my father asked, he told me she said something to the effect of "whatever it's worth." Which either means she really doesn't know or have a target in mind, or has some sort of vision of its value that may be more abstract.

I like that adjustable stock idea.
It's a nice feature that allows the rifle to grow as the kid does.
Most OEM stocks, especially on .22s, are too short for folks with long arms.
Interestingly enough I had the opposite problem. My wife is so small that even the short .22 stocks were too long. Had to find one that would collapse shorter then a 10/22's.
