Scroll down and watch video.

In the video that perp donkey kicks in the door. I'm just wondering if it was a airsoft rifle.

No rounds were fired. It's definitely a good use of a firearm for home protection.

Article says it was a Ruger AR-556...but the effect it had could also have been pulled off by an airsoft gun.

what difference does that figgen make.

The difference is that in order to have a good or bad shoot, first you must shoot. That never happened.

It was a good encounter, though, but it could have gone sideways quickly.

I say the guy with the gun did just fine.
He restrained himself and didn't shoot.
The bad guys ran off and there was no reason for it to escalate any farther.

On the other hand , why didn't he shoot ?
Was he really that restrained or was he unwilling in the moment ?
If it was the latter then it could have gone real bad , real fast.

He didnt immediately shoot cause he didnt see a weapon in the hand of the door kicker.

His words from the report.

Plus the fact that most people will hesitate and his window of opportunity was only a couple of seconds.

When the guy kicked open the door , the guy with the gun started to back up until the bad guy ran.
How far would the guy with the gun have backed up if the bad guy kept coming ?
Nobody knows what would have happened if the bad guy would have kept coming.

Hmmm, I thought I heard two shots at 22 rimfire noise level. I don't know anything about airsoft stuff,... but I definitely heard something at around 29 seconds into the video.

My problem with these videos,is,.... I can never figure out which ones are staged, and which ones are not.

There would've been a dead guy, full of 12ga buckshot, in the doorway if that were my house.

But wouldn't the shotgun blast have thrown him 50 feet backwards out the door, just like in the movies?

Staged and fake as hell...

The article says it was real and there was a police report.
...Just like Jessie Smollett.

The doorlock AND a deadbolt get breached without any buckling, cracking of the door or splintered doorjamb, all by a skinny one kick to the lower middle of the door.

Shoes strategically placed to prevent the door from slamming the wall.

Timing just right to have the action shot when the owner returns with weapon.

Here's the most telling:
The perps retreat down the stairs while gunner steps out to get a visual.
Then gunner begins to retreat back into the house. Why would he do that? Doesn't matter to blue shirt as he slides past gunner, puts himself between gun and bad guys? Because he's armed with... socks?

Fake.

This was an optimum shoot, one where contact is broke (goal), and no shots fired.

I also heard what sounded like two shots when the guy pointed the gun at the door kicker. It sounded like one of those guns that shoot plastic BB's to me.
I don't believe the door kicker had time to check and see if it was real or not. He saw a gun and ran.

Blood spray on door frame clears me..
