The United Nations cannot find a solution to end the Israel-Hamas conflict

With the Mideast racing toward a potentially catastrophic war, it is too kind to say the United Nations is useless.

Worse than doing nothing, it is actually making everything worse.

The blame-Israel, justify-Hamas remarks by Secretary General António Guterres were outrageous, but hardly shocking given the UN’s historic hatred of Israel.

The gutless U.N. refuses to take a stand against the Hamas terrorists.

The resolution calling for a Gaza cease-fire overwhelmingly passed the General Assembly — without mentioning the Hamas terror attack that started the war.

The 120-14 vote showed how warped the world is, with only the US, Israel, Hungary, Austria, Croatia and a few others on the right side of history.

The useless U.N. wants Israel to repeat the mistakes of the past. Previously, Hamas would strike Israel, Israel would strike back, a cease fire would be initiated, and Hamas would declare victory. Then the cycle would repeat.

Israel may use a new weapon called “sponge bombs” to seal and block off Hamas tunnels.

The Israel Defense Force could deploy the new handheld devices to negotiate Hamas’ labyrinthine tunnel system –and trap any hidden fighters in them once they launch their long-awaited ground invasion into Gaza, according to reports.

The sponge bombs consist of chemical compounds based around a liquid emulsion.

It can be thrown into a tunnel where it swiftly expands and hardens.

The device would leave Hamas fighters with no escape and allow Israeli commandos to secure safe routes to travel while searching for hostages.

On Iwo Jima American forces would pump seawater into Jap tunnels where there may have been holdouts. Then they would pump in gasoline which would float on the surface of the seawater and ignite it. The Japs had the opportunity to surrender before we resorted to this tactic. If they ignored our demands to surrender and stayed in in the tunnels they would probably die by burns, lack of oxygen or smoke inhalation.
