After his little series of trash videos with Lunkers, I believe “The Reaper” has little credibility remaining. Anyone in the precision community who knows what they’re talking about has abandoned Nick as a cheap shill at this point.

Yes, the man served, and I thank him for that. But I’ve met plenty of former service men and women who know dick about firearms/shooting but think that their Uncle Sugar training makes them God’s gift to the firearm world, when the reality is that such statements couldn’t be further from the truth...

Very few people get much firearms training in the military, but more get it in the Marines, Army and special forces arena than in others.

I got exactly 3 shots in Basic training to verify my battlesight zero on my M14 before I qualified. Fortunately for me, I'd been shooting since I was a little kid, so I qualified expert, but almost nobody else did in my Platoon.

Interestingly enough, when I got to my final duty station, an Infantry outfit, I had to requalify with an M16 and again qualified expert, and when I did they offered me sniper school. They said that anyone who qualified expert was offered the school. I have no idea if that was true or not.

I said not only no, but hell no to the sniper school and stayed in Ordnance Supply instead. It was a lot safer.

The reaper has a few other videos out actually shooting long range. I'd say he is pretty damn good and got more than 3 shots in for sure.

Yeah, they told me that in sniper school you essentially shoot all day long.

That would be fun for a while, but would get old after a while also, plus I've found that people get real irritable when you shoot at them and their friends and go looking for you.

Hey Basher
I visit youtube frequently mostly for "how to" stuff and gun content but I dont usually follow anyone enough to read about any feuds though I know they happen. Seems to happen a lot with the gun channel guys. First time I ever saw this gentleman and he seemed to be able to speak to the subject intelligently.

Guess once you throw in the kind of money I hear these guy can make its an incentive to try and tear down the competition. I will have to look up "lunkers" to see what is going on.

The only gun guy I watch fairly religiously now is Paul Harrell. I used to enjoy that Yankee something or other. Kind of fun and I liked how he was often the contraire and poking fun but when he had his diatribe about why he didn't understand that someone would be upset if their service was called into question regarding some other youtube guy .. well I just started to realize that his fun poking was actually a bit mean spirited and decided he didn't need to be in my feed.

I like the MAC guy too and hickok45 but not enough to follow either.

I just thought it was neat that a guy who is an actual trained sniper took a critical look at movie "sniper" Interesting part about the video was it seems most of the movie consultants were spot on according to the "real" sniper. Guess consultants and the people who hire them are getting better!

Any videos about the guy Lunkers I should watch to get the poop. My wife is home today which means no work for me so I have some time.

Oh and I somehow fell into some rabbit hole and have been watching some of these

I’ll paste here what I posted on the SnipersHide forum after I watched the video. A vast majority of people felt much the same way. Other prior Scout Snipers such as Phillip Velayo, Caylen Wojcik, and if I recall even Frank Galli, all concurred that the video linked above is an embarrassment to the profession. Even more damning is that

My quote:

“ LOL, what are these guys doing?

Just shy of the 02:00 mark, the guy says he’s using MOA. Kinda lost me right there, but I kept watching to see what happens. Then at 06:00, he wants an elevation call in mils.

“Zeroing” on the plate at 300, they’re just eyeballing everything. Dude’s cranking that windage knob like a mofo, takes a shot, and his spotter’s like “take off half the cranks you just put on.” Really guys??

But I’m just some guy, so what do I know?”

The Army Sniper Association also commented, and didn’t really have good things to say (see the attached photo).

Emil Praslick, another accomplished individual in the community (former sniper, “The Wind God” because of how well he can call wind, works for Berger bullets) also didn’t think highly of the video (see other photo).

So yeah. The guy’s a profiteer, using his community and “knowledge” to rake in millions at the expense of the honor his position should hold, based on the comments of others who have lived his role as well.
