Finally got drawn after years of No.
Got drawn for first hunt.
22 not sure if north or south yet we put in for both in December.
Looking for references for guide to help a buddy and I both first time game hunters. Basically someone to show and teach how to harvest animal and track and hunt it.
The people he's talked to told him that it is going to be tough hunt. Terrain and time of year.

Yea 22 in December is a tough hunt. No Rutt anymore, I assume Bull hunt? You will probably start getting different hunt guide services sending you letters and cards in mail in the next few months trying to get stuff lined up for late hunts. If you're new to hunting and you got the $ for a guided hunt it would be $ we'll spent if you're really looking to tag out a decent Bull in December. IMO.

The December hunts are tough. North is lots of tags and hunters and quality of elk are not as good as years ago. South is a better hunt for size I feel, but less elk and the terrain can be rugged. I would suggest trying to get in the best shape possible starting NOW. If you need the numbers for some local guides that live in the area let me know and I can send them your way.
