Sold under a ton of different names but they actually work pretty well. I'm really unsure of how they could be produced this cheaply.

Turkey has a lot of manufacturing, especially home appliances. They produce a lot of products consumed by Europe.

I guess they are fairly advanced technologically but still have a low wage labor force.

My buddy picked one up, it goes bang. It cant handle bird shot though, it wont cycle even after 50 slugs and 100rds of buckshot to break it in.

Well, when you don't have to pay your workers much and you decide to use the cheapest materials possible to manufacture them, they can be sold for a lot less money. Most people won't shoot the guns enough to break them, so they don't have to worry too much about returns....not like you can return a shotgun to Turkey anyways, or easily find replacement parts here in the US.

Turkey has been making shotguns for decades. CZ shotguns are made by Huglu, Winchester branded shotguns like the SXP are made by Istanbul Silah...the list goes on. Now that most of the Benelli patents have expired, you have M4 clones like the Charles Daly 601 DPS and the Toros Copolla T4, which are proving to be nice shotguns.

Their AR style shotguns may have problems but their O/U shotguns, at least the ones I've seen, are pretty flawless.

Not my circus, not my monkeys. I suggested it though.

I have a cz Ringneck, in 20 ga. I’ve had it for years. Very nice fit and finish. Even all the screws are properly clocked. Including the screws under the sliver forend.
They can make good stuff.

Turkey has some relatively brand new factories with brand new equipment. I bought a couple of there CZ clones. I love CZ but I have to admit the machining and overall fit and finish on the turk copies was a good deal better than CZ. I wouldn't turn my nose up at the turk guns. I imagine they can produce guns cheaply with government subsidies and fairly cheap labor.

I have a pair of CZ 20 Ga sxs ringnecks that are really very nice and a 12Ga hammer fired coach gun that is very nice. But i have no idea about the metallurgy etc. As previously stated don't shoot them that much so they should last forever. I am interested in checking out one of the benelli m4 clones. For the price a of a real one you could buy about 4-5 of them.....

I run leery of them, save for those with an established brand on the receiver. Stoeger, CZ, Mossy, Winnie, etc. That way, IF something goes awry, there's a company with a reputation that's got a vested interest in trying to rectify things. Just sayin....
