You will be seeing more about this shortly on EVERY gun channel on YouTube.

ATF has informed the attorneys at the law firm of Wiley-Rein (one of the largest industry legal services for manufacturers) via a letter (shown below) that they are seeking and intending to reclassify the entire PDW category of braced pistols as AOW or SBR and subject to the NFA.

Does this just apply to AR and AK type pistols?

A lot of big revolvers are also chambered in rifle calibers. Even some derringers

If you read the criteria ATF is suggesting,...including weight, size, suitability for handiness,...they are trying to create a nebulous and confusing morass of excuses that would ultimately allow them to declare anything they want and just point at the regs and say, "Well its all right there." In the end, they simply want to be able to declare on a case by case basis according to their whim.

So if this is allowed to happen, how does one register the aow? Do you have to take it to a class 3 to do the paperwork, do you keep it? Just trying to figure it out.

Probably part of the set-up to have an amnesty to also register your semi-auto "assault weapon" under the new regime.

They did the same thing with Cobray Street sweepers like 20 years ago. I wasn't active in the gun world then but I do remember reading about it.

This is why you should never go the SBR route. They never mess with how they view the pistol braces but they're always jacking around with the stamped SBRs. :shifty:

Trump recently changed the rules protecting certain federal employees so it is easier to fire policy makers in federal agencies who are making laws that are not legal to begin with. This could mean all policy makers can be fired. This is ATF trying to f*** us as they know it is coming.

After all of the great points that were made on the other thread I'm a true believer now. Pistol braces all the way.

You two fudds are running your mouths again without recognizing the real issue. Most of us have NFA items and have no issue with it, however you two clowns are so busy jerking each other off thinking that NFA stuff is gonna somehow avoid the eventual chopping block as well. This ISN'T about "braces vs. SBR", this is the proverbial canary in the coal mine about where the BATF/gov is heading in regards to their attitude about our freedoms. Is that too hard of a concept for you two to grasp?

It's already bad enough that we have a core group of a clique from the old board that hates anyone that dissents to their approved opinions, but what you said even if in jest was akin to adding an incendiary to an already hot and very emotionally driven topic for them.
Yes, I was thinking the same thing, as in, "is he really trying to say the opposite?"

Well said.

Well, if 13yrs of public education failed you two (maybe less based on your comprehension skills), then there isn't much I can do for you. I'm against any ATF infringement on our rights, if you can't grasp that or have issue with that, then please excuse me for not giving two f*cks about you or your ignorant "opinions" posed as an attempt to be a prick. Isn't there an AZ airsoft forum you guys should be patronizing? We deal in real guns and issues here.
