Damn ... I moved out here for a cool job and loved the rough rugged independent spirit and decided to stay.

16 years later it looks like accross the board in all the spots up for grabs AZ will be a Starbucks visiting, latte drinking, transgender state filled with new gun control laws, higher taxes and all the sh*t that comes with being a blue state.

Kinda to old to move again but looks like utah might still think like this ex NYer does. Only a short drive.

Seems the Dems are getting every spot in AZ. Fly your rainbow flags bro's

I have grown up here....looks like it’s a sad day for my home state.

If trump truly looses I feel like I better be happy with my current collection of firearms as I won’t be able to afford to buy any more ammo or new guns from either lack of supply or what is surely more control to come....

Do let's start predicting changed

Constitutional carry .. gone
Open carry .. forget it
Shooting in the desert outside of blm ranges ... done
Online ammo ... Maybe not
Toll roads .. you betcha
7 day wait for guns .. possibly
Private sales ... Hmmmmm
Tax increases on everything you bet
More section 8 housing going to destroy nice neighborhoods yup

I seen it.

Feel free to move.

Didn't need your permission but thanks anyway.

Already spent to many years living in an opressive, overtaxed state. Been there done that.

Don't worry ... If my conservative a$$ leaves you can replace it with another green hair liberal looking for free sh*t

What you needed was more people with my values to move here ... Not leave!

We Spent two weeks in SD, Wyoming and Utah last month. Those are 3 places we are considering at least part time residence in. Add Idaho to that list as a possible place to go. Southern Utah has the mildest weather. Wyoming is fantastic but too damn cold in the winter still my pick for various reasons. Low population density, low taxes and conservative core values. SD was great as well the Black hills are awesome but probably too expensive for us. Eastern SD makes more sense financially but bitter cold in winter. I have been here in AZ 40 years my wife longer and even my wife now says she will entertain a move to a less populated more conservative place. Too bad really, but It was inevitable. The Phoenix metro area is lost, the only savior would be a few more summers with 70 days over 110°F that might chase out some of the beach bums.....

Something I don't understand is the gun enthusiasts that vote Dem in this state. I've got an acquaintance who thinks that way and believes his guns are safe.
I asked what part of "hell yes we are coming after your guns" don't you get?

It may seem odd to folks here that dont know me that I am so upset about AZ going blue since I am

YEECH .. a transplant from NYC.

but .. its kind of like the Cubans in Florida who came out for Trump. They heard Socialism/communism and they said .. Oh fuk that!

why

Because they are intimately familiar with it and know what it means and where it will lead.

Being from NYC ... I know what this means in a real way and where it will lead .. and I escaped that. I didnt need to float over on inner tubes, I took a plane but the same.

Being a conservative leaning guy I came and felt freedom and kindred spirits. It was like coming out of the closet!

... dont want to go back to that liberal all accepting over taxed politically correct to the point of foolishness nonsense .

Just wait .....

If you haven't joined, join the Arizona Citizens Defense League. At least you will have the voting membership of over 17,000 members.
I bet most of the turnout this year went for the marijuana law. They won't need to vote again for awhile I hope.

Good stuff exactly what i have been doing for the last few months. Learning to live in cold weather again is going to be the toughest part. But i am up for it. There has to be a small town in Wyoming that needs a new gun shop.... Hmm

I'm a transplant from Ill. Went through the FOID (Firearms Owner's Identification) implementation there. Death by a thousand cuts for firearms owners.

That and stupid Demoncrat spending, with higher taxes to support their thirst for money drove me out.

Californicators are moving out at a rate of 44,000 per month, many heading here do to warm climate and short drive back to the water. That may drive me out of here also with crap like 207 & 208.

Ridiculousness! You can usually point out these miserable shitcunts by there personal attacks and poor attitudes, never in a million years would have thought AZ would turn blue.. ofcourse I never anticipated we would be invaded by ignorant political disease spreaders you know the saying folks.. 'misery loves company'

I've been of the mind that AZ is screwed and going blue for some time now. I moved to Sierra Vista in 2003 on an Army contract...
Being retired for some time now, we spent the last 3 or 4 years looking at and visiting many places to move to in the west. We nixed some right off the bat... Any that were really cold like WY SD,ND and MT as our Arty-rite-us can't handle it. Also, I loved Oregon in the 70's but it was one of the first to californicate... Washington has some really bad gun laws and Seattle controls the state so both of them are out. Nevada and Utah are pretty much wastelands with a couple city enclaves each - Reno & Carson city are expensive and fairly liberal being close to Kali. Las Vegas is another one we decided against and we wouldn't fit in much of Utah. New Mexico is way to blue. Colorado is too, and way too cold where the red runs true.
We looked at Texas and almost went there but taxes and the Kali rush made us hesitate. There were a lot of small towns that looked good on paper but when we got there we found COL was out of out range and frequently the Califorianians had gotten there first... Prescott/Coure de'Lene/Sand hill/San Antonio... others.

We finally sold the house in Cochise County and moved into a rental in Tucson for a year. What a sad experience seeing how blue that once great town had become -not to mention Oro Valley is full of Calif plates.

So... we recently picked up and moved to NW Arkansas. to the Ozarks... green hills and actual water in the streams... COL is a lot cheaper here and housing is 1/2 the cost of Tucson. It's not backwards like everyone said in the old days... The only issue I have is I can't find a range over 100 yds...

Arkansas is also on my list we are making a trip next year to Arkansas, OK, Tennessee and Kentucky.

Ole gal and i had planned a driving trip to ft bragg and campbell, to see some relatives, and along the way check out places.
I lived in South Bend in, for a winter and a half as an adult and went to school there as a young man, and hated the winters once i became an adult, when young, no biggy,
i do not like the cold, good old arizona was perfect, shorts to the ski lodge, some bibs, and walla sking, then in shorts for trip home, and i rarely wear trousers, even when its really cold, not to say i do not own them, gotta have a suit, at my age, me friends are dropping like flies, and we know what that means,
i'm finally building my dream shop out back and this shiat happens, go figure, uncle murphy hes always looking out for ones dream.
i do miss the ole az and have watched it sliding away for decades, started in the seventies with the new yorkers showing up in groves. and now here we are.

Two things to research are Tornado paths and the Madrid earthquake zone. There is a little pocket in NWA that is outside of both... unfortunately there are some liberals discovering this area, so a few are around but the majority here is deep red. Major cities are about 1 hour away - sort of like Tucson-Phoenix or SV-Tucson.

They have hills and lakes here and the winters are not too bad with snow only a few days a year (I am told). Avg low is in the 30's where in SV it frequently got into the 20's (until the sun came up). Humidity is high in the summer but I didn't find it unbearable like so many say (it's a wet heat). They got constitutional carry and castle doctrine but no stand your ground. They need an org like AZCDL and they need a local forum like Azshooting.org . I have seen a LOT of pickup trucks and camo and a few open carry.

Tornado maps of last 50 years basically cover most of the eastern half of the US, Sulphur Springs AR looks good or Maybe Gravette for the earthquake zone but tornado's do occur.... Hmm
