Moving past whether a cardboard box on a city street constitutes a "home", he's going to prison.

"But prosecutors say that Matos was the aggressor and acted out of revenge rather than self-defense. They say he chased after the young men, stabbing one of them in his shoulder and back, lacerating his liver, and slashing the other above the eye."

A judge in New York will decide exactly that in a case involving a homeless man who stabbed two college students after they kicked the boxes he sleeps in on the East Side.

“I didn’t do anything wrong. They should be prosecuting those two guys,” Joseph Matos said in an interview with the New York Times. He’s referring to Jorge Morales and Jose Bosch, two students from Guatemala who attend Boston College.

lol, wat

BC has no campuses or properties, not even leased or shared, in NY. Any of those that are in MA, are a very long way from NY even still.

I knew some of those upper class Latin American kids when I was a college student. Behaving like kings in feudal europe was their mo. Doesn't surprise me they would have picked on the homeless

I'm sure it'll be last time they'll kick an "empty" box

Yeah... They'll probably escalate in the future.

People that harass the homeless rarely connect action and consequence in a way that makes them say "huh, maybe they're people too" and instead usually lean "well, if the crazy box people stabbed me when I kicked a box, maybe I should hit the box with a giant pipe instead".
