When I first heard this line of rumor earlier today from a friend of mine, I responded this way;...

Well,...this sounds like a story that might have been planted by the opposition as cover for something planned to be actually conducted by operatives within our own population. If there is one thing that the previous 2 attempts on Trump prove is that leaving the task to non-professionals in order to have deniability is not reliable enough to ensure results. Therefor,...if it were me trying to take him out and I ran the alphabet agency tasked with it,...this is exactly the type of story I would get going around for everyone to hear. Then I would have one of our Iranian missiles we have stashed away in our warehouses, issue it to a reliable and competent warrior who has shown allegiance to "the cause", and have him do the deed. Leave a few Iranian bodies behind at the scene and let some compromised local f***-up cops take on the status of heroes for engaging in combat with the terrorists, then have them gunned down a few months later in a drug raid gone bad. Maybe the actual missile firer gets sent on another mission somewhere designed to wipe him out so there are no more witnesses. As complicated as that sounds, it would be much more likely to reliably achieve the task than actually trying to import some Iranians to do the deal. The problem there is that so many of the middle eastern suspects our secret squirrel guys went and rounded up after 9/11 were totally wowed by America once they got here and decided to abandon the jihad and just blend in and try to live life. We caught scads of dudes who had indeed been infiltrated here to do all sorts of mayhem. But 9 out of 10 of them, once they actually started living here and meeting Americans and talking to them and experiencing America, realized there some sort of bullshit being thrown at them and they abandoned the missions. There were hundreds of guys like that who were just existing peacefully,...until our dudes came along and scooped them all up and took them to Guantanamo. The fact that the 9/11 hijacking thing happened at all with everyone staying on task and motivated through the whole thing is actually quite remarkable and an aberration when you consider the ratio of imported terrorists who actually end up backing out deciding to just blend in and ignore why they came.
