I am helping a recent widow sell her late husbands collection (only five guns). I don't have any experience with gun consignment. What is a fair rate to pay? Also, is the Blue Book of Gun Values a reliable source in determining what a firearm is worth?

The current gun drought is so extensive that you could list them all here and they would be gone by the end of the day.

My recommendation is to take copious photos and post what you/widow knows about the guns here and ask for a recommended price BEFORE you put anything into the classifieds.
Could be you have some really nice gems that will fetch a high price.
Could be you have a bag of Hi-Points that aren't worth much.
Betting that there's at least a few people on this forum that are pretty knowledgeable about particular platforms: wheelies; 1911's; shotties; etc...

Jeff at AJI has been known to do things like this, but he buys them outright and sells them when he can.

Jeff's signs are color coded, green, pink, blue. The indicate new, used, or consignment, but I forget which color is which.

Jeff is above board, so he'd be the guy I recommend for someone in the East side.

Thank you for the suggetions. Ultimately, it will be up to her. So I can give her as much info as possible, what are some reputable shops in the NW valley that do consignment?
