Help with updating my revolver carrying wife....

My first question has to be .. Why?
I went through a gaggle of guns for the wife and they are all in board members hands. She landed on loving revolver. Shoots the damn things pretty well too. Now has and wont let go of a Ruger SP101.

Is it a size thing .. what are the needs she is not getting out of the revo so we can offer some relevant suggestions. A little expensive but offers a few extra rounds over the chief and is close in Manual of arms kinda

There are more there if it interests you. They are discontinued but nice gun. I had the 40 sas. Wish I still did.

I like the feel and trigger of the XD offerings over the glock but the grips are really long on anything but the sub. My mother was out maybe 7 years ago and her favorite gun out of some 7 I brought to the range was my XD Sub double stack in 40S&W!! I never would have thought but it was her first time ever shooting and she was damn good with that gun.

My girlfriend loves the Walther PPS-M2. There are a few different size mags for it, 6/7/8 rounds. The 8 rounder is nice in my hand.

She feels the need to carry. Just can't hardly hit anything with the old J frame anymore, not good for +P, 5 shots, and her L frame is too big and heavy for her purse lol.
She understands the advantages of an automatic. Just have to find one with a trigger that feels right to her.

In my experience, of those models you listed, the XD (with aftermarket trigger kit) had the best trigger of all. I'm a Glock fan, but my buddy's XD has soooooooo sweet a trigger, I almost defected. But I stuck with Glocks because of grip angles and manual of arms continuity.

I'm confused, LOL. You pointed out features she "hates", yet EACH
pistol you list HAS such feature. ( I'm not positive on the 365, perhaps
it's an alloy trigger? )

Anyhooo, Kahrs have steel triggers, with size and short length of
trigger pull akin to the J-frame. Albeit, a far superior, lighter trigger
than a typical J. Sig made P239's available with a DAK trigger option.
Also, the P250....the sow's ear of sales which they turned into the silk-purse
runaway P320 series. Longer, but smooth, rolling, DA-trigger like a tuned S&W.
Likewise, Beretta's D-series trigger option, but likely far too large.
If WEIGHT is not much of an issue, the Kimber K6 series is quite a revolver.
BARELY Larger than a J-frame, with a 6th shot, and a trigger that's a joy.
You also get a real set of 3-dot sights, as with most semi-autos, and NS are
available.

Ooooo. I forgot .. if she is used to DA and likes it Tristar CZ clones are a freagin bargain. At least they were a couple years ago. They have other models but this is one I bought for the wife. She never loved the whole racking and levers things so we would up at 38 special and I sold this off.

Was a fun shooter though! I added the grips. Aluminum frame but they do have steel. Machining was actually better than an actual CZ.

Winmagbill had a Sweet LW CZ clone he was trying to sell for the longest. I have handled it. I think he might have given it to one of his children but you might want to PM him to take a look. I remember it being a good price.

Out of the autos I've looked at the SIG P365 does not have a trigger safety lever nor a plastic trigger.
It does have night sights.

Have seen it many many times in gals coming to class with what the hubby/so picked out for them. Usually too small/light to be able to handle or shoot well.

If she’s been used to a wheelgun all the different manipulations of an auto may be harder to deal with.

Tried a 4” s&w model 10? .... tapered barrel keeps weight in check and the k-frame can be up or down sized in the grips to accommodate most hand sizes.... still relatively easy to come by at a decent price.

4” k-frame or Glock 19 have been the best 2 choices that I have seen for many years for female students. Kind of the ‘ easy button’ choices IMO

She did look at a few and liked the trigger on the SIG P365 the best. Happy that it is small enough to carry in a practical manner. I have to get her some snap caps so she can familiarize herself with manipulating the firearm and loading mags. And I gotta find some ammo as we have previously owned nothing in 9mm.

Got the ammo covered, put in a Grayguns flat trigger and a MCARBO spring kit. Armory Craft extended mag release inbound. She loves the trigger, just a little difficulty pushing the mag release so I think we about got it all worked out.
