I couldn't find one of a transgender zombie jesus to further anger the religious.
I am a devout atheist. However, I respect my friends' Christian beliefs. I know that to them, this is the most important day of the year. I know that they believe that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most important day in the history of the world. I respect that, and if the government ever tried to infringe on their Constitutional right to be Christian, I would fight, kill and die to protect that right, as I would the right to bear arms or any other right.
I am off to the annual family Easter brunch hosted by my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, who are devout Catholics. I would get no pleasure from offending them, and it would not occur to me to offend them.
To all Christians out there -- Happy Easter. May you derive the fullest enjoyment from it.

Agreed. Many are hyper sensitive these days. Easily triggered. You can’t have a discussion (not argument) about most things these days. I find it best to keep my thoughts to myself but applaud those who can have civil discussions and are open to just listen. No need to agree or disagree. Just talk.pneuby said:

Funny how the left is hyper sensitive if someone says anything that can be remotely construed as an insult of trans. But they have no problem outwardly insulting the religious at our core beliefs with things like Paulgt found. And this includes the so-called catholic named biden.

And it isn't just the "left" - the "right" equally loses it's mind when someone pokes a bit of fun at something they hold near and dear. The entirety of society these days is hyper-focused on being stuck in a cycle of frantic "how dare you" and angry fist shaking at just about anything. Shame people don't see how much they have been manipulated by politics, media, etc - to the point were they can't have a chuckle at something. No wonder comedy movies these days suck compared to the ones made a couple/few decades ago.
Several years ago I was doing some work in a temple in Gilbert. When you walked into the building, off to the right there was this large painting. It was a 8' x 5' or larger painting, in a giant gold frame - and the centerpiece of the room . The issue with this - and I had to chew on my cheek to keep from busting out in laughter - was it completely, totally, unavoidably looked like Jesus was getting head from the follower in the painting. The follower's head was right at Jesus' dangler level, Jesus had his hands on the dude's shoulders, and the facial expression of the Jesus was one of delight. Jesus himself would have laughed at this painting. Two of the temple employees, all in their robes and decor and probably 60+ years old seen me struggling to contain the laughter - and said they laugh every time they see it and they have no idea why that monstrosity as chosen. One of them made the comment it looked like something from a national lampoon movie. We all had a long, hard laugh at this thing - and went about our day. Fast forward a few years - and I stumbled across the pic I took of this ridiculous painting and posted it to one of my social media accounts. An acquaintance of mine who is of the same religion as the temple seen it - and took major offense. Went off the rails because I posted it. This is the same dude who had frequently made fun of his own religion fairly often in years past (quoting a few southpark episodes about it.) Haven't seen nor heard from him since. Just a good example of how society has changed to the point where no one can take a joke anymore. Makes me appreciate how my group can all laugh at anything, and not get offended.
me thinks opinions can be shared, good or bad, its the intent in which they are shared, again jmo, if you dont' want to know what i think or believe, do not put me in a position of explaining it to you, would never force my opinion on you, but will share if asked, and occasionaly offer it whether solicited or not. Its still America, and imo free speech is alive and well.

FWIW - I'm a devout Christian. However, I respect my friend's rights to believe whatever they want to believe as long as their beliefs don't infringe on my liberty (beyond believing that I'm not free to infringe on someone else's liberty - of course).
I also have no desire to offend folks or to ruin someone else's day and am grateful for your genuine grace in your statement on this topic.
The counter-point to that, though, is that I find it incredibly sad that in much of the modern world people of divergent beliefs have lost the ability (and more-so willingness) to sit down with each other and argue ideas... and to do this in a way that is detached from the personal. We tend to be good at calling each other idiots (or worse yet - evil) - but not so good at sitting down over a beer and exploring what we believe. I wish we (the collective "we") were better at having a "good argument."
