Enough weird shit happens that I guess people just become immune. ITs like all the giant rats running around in the subway.. you just stop thinking about them.

I was maybe 15 and worked as a cashier at a local supermarket in the Projects. Three guys came in on Xmas eve waving guns to rob the place. Had the muzzle of a shotgun pointed at my face from 12 inches away. They robbed the 6 cashiers, held the manager at gun point and ran out the door with the bags.

As soon as the door closed behind them people were pissed off that we werent checking them out fast enough. It was like .. "That just happened but its over and I got things to do" No fear no nothing. No one pointed a gun at them so carry on.

Im still trying to figure out how to get the Sh*t out my underwear at this point and people that were on line are like .. Come on check me out. Its like it never happened. Store was packed and we just kept checking people out.

Funny part of the story ... Guy pokes the shotgun in my face and demands I put everything in a bag. They didnt bring bags so we used the paper grocery store bags. That muzzle looked like it belonged on a blunderbuss when you are looking at the wrong end a foot from your face so I threw in the coupons, wic checks .... and ... the CHANGE!

I will never forget the sound of all that change jangling in the bag as he ran out of the store with his partners. :mrgreen:
