Actually it just reminds me that AZ isn't as far off of CA as people seem to think.

Jeff Flake, Kyrsten Sinema, Tucson's sanctuary city proposal, etc, etc are homegrown AZ things.

As for CA even there the San Bernardino County Sheriffs weren't too worried about some low lifes getting intimidated by guns and falling down repeatedly when after a string of break ins locals (to include several that I know) tracked them down and entertained them until LE could arrive. It seems some parts of CA are more AZ then some parts of AZ are.

That was actually the intent until dogs gave it away. I was coming from my side and neighbor was coming from his. Dogs alerted far enough into my property that I thought there was a good chance a person had jumped my fence. So rather then try to track them down it switched to scare them off.

One last shot and I am happy. You really should learn the laws regarding using a dog to defend yourself. I train dogs to bite and I do not want to use my dog to defend myself because of what can happen in court and how much I can lose. Only people who are immune from getting in trouble using a dog to bite are police and you are not one of them. Even doing security work with dogs it is more to get people to leave a area for fear of being bitten but you turn one loose there is still civil courts and the asshole that wears a robe to work ordering your dog destroyed for biting.

As I mentioned previously, of the three whole neighbors I have within a square mile, one was out there with the same idea as me and the other two are damn glad we are doing so. NO ONE is pulling that "find a bullet" set me up crap.

Even local law enforcement has noted a shift away from our area now that the neighbor and myself are proactive.

"Yard"? LOL I am on 36 acres. You all need to stop thinking in terms of crowded together urban crapholes like the Valley or even a small town for that matter.

You do not seem to understand you were in the wrong. What you described was of no threat to you, what you described were multiple violations of law which you, yourself committed. On top of it you come here whether it is to bait some "gun nut" into supporting you for some unknown reason such as "look these people think this would have been ok, do you think they should keep guns?" agenda or what I do not know.

Many people on here know me, have dealt with me and know I am pretty open minded. About this posting of yours what I DO know, and it is no secret I and several others on this site ARE peace officers, is from your description of events I would have arrested you given the description of events you provided. There is a time and place for the use of a weapon and you met none of those requirements in YOUR description.

For further information on just a few offenses off the top of my head keep reading.

They were not on your property and doing nothing that you know of beyond being stopped on a public thoroughfare. By ordering your dogs to get them and then firing off a weapon you committed the following...

So I am guessing while you were in the military you saw the bad guy and you fired a warning shot to scare him off? Doesn't matter that you didn't shoot at anyone the fact you discharged the weapon at all is the problem. Even though we have the castle doctrine in this state and most of the penalty for brandishing was removed you still screwed up and can't admit it. You should be in California with the rest of the smart people. You also are not groping Joe Biden with his double barrel. Learn form what people said and stop being a douchebag. True. Living in the sticks still has the same laws in place as in the cities or towns. Just because the neighbors agree to shooting off guns for no reason doesn't make them law abiding folks either. All it would take is for the person in that car parked out front is to call the cops and make a report. The cops would come and investigate. Yes. Even out in the boonies cops will have to do their duty. If you got charged for a felony, bye bye guns.

Yes, I believe there was some bad judgment involved but how many of us DID NOT get whacked in the back of the head for letting the muzzle travel during our first experiences as kids? There is room for improvement in all of us, the only time it stops is when we refuse to evaluate ourselves and our actions in the light of the day and make adjustments where necessary. Only when someone insists on maintaining a bad path are they worth turning away from.

We need all the gun owner stewards we can and we owe it to ourselves to try to keep each other on the straight and narrow.

I used to defend Steve on the other forum because he seemed like a good guy trapped in a bad state. But since the other site went down he has been a douche to quite a few on here. I hope after this maybe he will change but I doubt he will. He really seemed like a good guy on the other board.
