My g29 is my favorite woods carry gun owb kydex. I use the double tap 200gr hardcast. Small enough to not get in the way with a pack but enough punch and barrel Length/velocity that I don’t feel under gunned. I don’t typically carry it for ccw as I think it’s Slightly too thick for me iwb but love the extra punch for dangerous game.
Not sure what you were running but not all 10mm ammo is created equal. The hot stuff (Dt, bb, Underwood, hand loaded) is much more snappy than the Fmj target rounds.
Still very manageable though

I shot a variety of loads from the Grizzly 200gr wfngc, Buff Bore185 jhp to the incredibly underwhelming American Eagle FMJs. But thank goodness for those FMJs, only affordable rounds out there I have so far found.
