Saw a few things on armslist I am interested in, sent messages to the sellers. No responses after several days. Several of these were offers to purchase and set up meets. Nothing at all, not even replies from Nigerian scammers. Why bother to post an ad if you aren't going to actually sell anything?

As a test I've even sent some messages to sellers whose wares I am not interested in, and those who grossly overpriced their stuff and still gotten no replies. Each time I get the message from Armslist that my message has been sent successfully though.

Is this an armslist internal issue or is this just the laziest group of sellers?

The messages may be going to their junk folder. I've never had a problem receiving messages as a seller, but just a thought.

I try not to get too attached to anything on Armslist anyway since half the responses I do get back are from scammers. Unless they want that site to complete go down the toilet, they really need to set up profiles like on Offerup to rate users.

Armslist is a mess. I finally sold something after it was posted for a week at my asking price.

I had nearly 50 offers, and 11 scheduled meets. The 11th one showed up.

I think there are an awful lot of anti-2A types trolling the site, as well as people that are posting/responding to ads.

I was sure to check my spam folder, but I never considered the possibility it went to the seller's spam folder as well.

I've had good luck with secondhand sites in the past. Did a few deals on backpage like a decade ago, and Ive bought and sold several non-2a stuff on craigslist and never had any issues.

Although I also sent some PMs to a seller on this site who never replied, so maybe the secondhand gods have it out for me right now....

There has to be a better way to vett people that respond to adds, yes lots of anti 2A groups target and troll firearm related sites.

Im seeing the exact same thing right now. There have even been a couple of ads with phone numbers, no response from them either.

Any chance anti 2A trolls are posting then collecting owner info?

I have found the ones with phone numbers are more creditable.

But, there are a lot of scammers there.

ArmsList is a charlie foxtrot. The last few items I tried to sell all got flagged as scams within the first few hours. They don’t vet anyone, so some random dickwad comes along and flags your stuff, they just pull it. So many scammers as well. It’s a headache.

As a buyer, I’ve had more luck. Still had flakes, and some real idiots, but I’ve picked up a few decent deals off there.

But yeah, you gotta be willing to deal with the dingles who don’t respond, or way overprice their stuff, or way lowball you if you make it past getting flagged.

I have had some ammo on Armslist priced reasonably. I have had several people respond that they want it. We go back and forth, arrange a time and place. Every time they cancel right at the meeting time. They always have an excuse. Most of the time it is something like “ my friend decided to sell me his ammo”. Still have not figured out their objective other than to waste my time.

Yep, I've listed stuff there and had several replies go to the junk folder even AFTER putting the domain on the "safe" list. Probably depends on what email provider / host you are using, but it's definitely an issue with Outlook.

I gave up selling guns to anyone but on here or to friends...not worth it. Never had luck with any of those sites at all.

I have had the same experience as both a buyer and seller in multiple online classified venues. Either people don't respond to my queries or they don't show up for the meet... I thought it was my BO but I see others have the same issues. Must be that they're too lazy to give a shait either way.

Don't use outlook... I use thunderbird.
