ordered one- installed a dedicated 20a circuit for it- soon as i find a sturdy SS stand for it- ill be non stop freeze drying- mostly from the ranch here- eggs- meat etc
anyone on here own a FD?

I dont own one and I keep flipping back and forth on the fence about one. I have tons of freeze dried food so Im not so sure it would end up being beneficial to me. But I have a feeling it would be anyways. I dont know....Obviously still on the fence. Did you buy it new? How much? Which version?

harvest right large- got it for 2500 new from HR- it's considered a refurb unit but it has a full warranty- i had to wait a month for it to become a refurb- premier pump- i done a few runs- seems to work very well

That… is a pretty nice discount!

update: this thing is still running like it should
i filter the pump oil every 12 runs

we have quite a bit of food done-
i decided to FD all expired canned goods-
its a great way to not have to donate goods that are 2-3 yrs past the eat by dates-
do not do 100 raw eggs lol-
i only FD cooked food- after the raw egg experiment-
get one boys !!
the 20 amp dedicated circut took me all of 20 mins to install-

I've got one, but probably the next size down since I don't need a 20a circuit.

What was your issue with eggs?

as soon as u reconstitute them- u only get scrambled eggs haha- jk-
im only doing cooked stuff now

been doing taco meat 9# at a time
then 15 beam soup beans& dirty rice
pretty good deal so far

HOW DOES IT DO WITH THE GREASE FROM THE MEAT? I BOUGHT ONE FROM A MEMBER AND WE DID A BIG BATCH OF CHILI. THEN I LOOKED ONLINE AND SAW THE CONCERNS ABOUT THE GREASE AND SINCE WE DIDN'T TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS DURING COOKING WE FROZE IN SEAL A MEAL BAGS .

anything i freeze dry is put into mylar bags-
theres some grease but i strain meats-
ive got 5 tramus of red beans n rice drying-
ill pull it tonight n mylar it- the andule sausage is a bit odd after FD'ing
