I have recently been informed by some customers like Honeywell, Bell, GE, BAE etc. that even though we don't hold a government contract directly, they expect us to comply with the Vaccine mandate as a sub tier supplier to a government contractor. I have told them all the F*&K off and we will see what happens. We are sole source for some things and the only supplier approved for certain processes in the country. I have 14 employees right now, no direct government contracts and there still trying to push this agenda with bullying and threats of lost work. Could get interesting if they start pulling our approvals and shut off the work. I am so sick of all of this constant interloping. First ITAR Registration, then CMMC (Cyber Security) now Covid Vaccine Mandates. It never ends. Big corps should be able to just say no to some of this stuff but it sure is not easy to do it. They like the path of least resistance. They hold a lot of cards unless a strong group stands up. Some have seemed to forget that Executive orders are not law, all of this stuff comes from executive orders.

Well after reading mikes comments, i get it, i
I'm a const. guy and have been since beginning of time.
and in the last few months have encountered multiple potential clients all have been from either comi land, or east of the mississippi which my father always claimed idiots came from.
now with that said, have had to retrieve my business cards from several physically at time of interview and explain how Arizonans which are true Americans deal with life. Well at least me.

several have been advised, i do not intrude upon my employees private lifes with bullshiat enuendo in regards to their health choices, unless it effects our daily operations in regards to safety ect.
Have had several insist we have vax, requirement prior to agreeing to work,
its insane, and i for one wont have it, some one dictating to me in regards to my biz and our employees.
Everything we do is referral work, hehe, so i do have the luxury of picking and choosing and have better choices than some. Also i'm on the verge of retiring and my attitude towards potential and existing clients is waning towards disliking most.
I and my crews are not their servants, amazing what they ask my guys to do for them ,thinking a freeby is just that, i've advised the boys and gals that if they are requested to assist in any thing longer than 5 minutes ,that we get 50 bucks an hour for assisting them.
hehe, fun to have them call me and whine about it.

Building has always been my life, and fun, its a hoot to see the glee in someones face on their new home ,bathroom, patio ext. once completed ,something i've always enjoyed, as for me the belief of true American freedom included owning your own castle, and doing what you wish to make it yours.

THE FUN HAS LEFT THE BUILDING. Thats the end of a rant, retirement which i am gonna struggle with is first o year or sooner if the right people pizz me off.

I am right there with you RJ, 40 years invested in a business and the fun is gone. The interesting work we do is very important but it has been superseded by regulation, negative adversarial relationships and stress. I am about at the end of the line, not sure what is next.
