First Kimber 1911 in 9mm ever made , now for sale ?

This is an add someone has on Amslist.
It say's he talked Kimber into making him the very first 1911 in 9mm and now he wants to sell it.
I am no Kimber expert but was just wondering what others thought about this.
Could it be real or is it a scam ?

It could be a real story; most mfg's have a custom shop and take custom orders.

However, for the $7,000 he wants for it, I can buy 3 NightHawk or Wilson Combat 9mm 1911's, and still have a few bucks left over to tell that guy to go f&ck himself.

No, just people who have "custom, one of a kind, ultra rare" items with with one crappy photo and no documentation to back it up.

I would think a phone call to Kimber would answer a lot of questions.
I'm not interested in this , but it is a good story.

Back in 2003 I bought a Kimber Target Stainless in a 9mm. I still have the pistol. So that beat him by 2 years.

The associate at Shooters World put down the phone to tell you Kimber doesn't make 9mm’s and then this associate tells customer they will consider? Sounds like pure BS to me.
