I'm trying to have an AR lower shipped to my FFL from out of state, but the seller is insisting on shipping it directly to my FFL instead of shipping through an FFL on their end. I know that's perfectly legal, but a bunch of FFLs that I've called won't accept it unless it's shipped from an FFL. I think it's because they could get stuck with it if you didn't accept it or if you couldn't pass a background check or something, and they wouldn't be able to simply return it to the shipping FFL.

Does anyone have an FFL in the north valley or know someone who does that accepts shipments from individuals? If so, I'd greatly appreciate the referral. This is the second time I've been in this situation. The last time I ended up having to pass on a gun, but I don't want to miss out on this deal.

Have you tried C2?

No I hadn't. Do they do transfers there? I have a membership with them, but it hadn't even occurred to me that they might do it. Most of the people on the gun sales side are so busy there that it can be a chore to get help, so I would probably avoid trying to do it there anyway.

@Basher had a recommendation for me in another thread. I was planning on using them, but I'm way up in the north valley. It would be a good option for anyone out aast.

As for private transfers, if you’re in the eat valley, I’m using AllArms, LLC (AllArms.net). Guy runs things out of his house in Gilbert, but transfers are $15 ($10 with a CCW) for the first, and $5 for each additional. He’s been solid for me for the past several transfers.

After calling around to a ton of FFLs in Phoenix, I finally found one that will accept shipments from private individuals. They charge $35 for the transfer, so not the cheapest, but it beats driving all the way across town.

$15 transfer fee, Pawn1st 2848 E Bell Rd suite 101-103, Phoenix, AZ 85032

I've purchased from them before, so I actually gave them a call this morning. They told me they don't do transfers. Maybe they stopped doing them recently or the guy I talked to didn't know what he was talking about.

That's weird, maybe it was Bell Road Pawn I used. It was a while ago.

There's another pawnshop that was almost across the street from Pawn1st that used to have a couple of full walls of guns, but they stopped selling guns altogether. I wonder if that might have been them.

Pawn1st is kind of weird with gun sales sometimes. I know they don't sell semi-auto centerfire rifles because of the anti-gun California based insurance company that they use.

As a member of C2, I've done multiple FFL transfers (receiving and shipping). They charge $20 per transfer and I've had no issue.
It's $60 to ship + $5 for every $500 or $1,000 (I forget) in insurance if you choose this.
But if you have found a place that does it for cheaper- go for it.

That's good to know. I'll keep them in mind next time. Do you know if they accept shipments directly from private individuals instead of just FFLs?

Sorry, but I don't recall. I've done so many transfers with them over the past couple of years that I think a few have been private party, but not 100%. Quick call or Facebook message will clear it up. Or you can email them at [email protected]

My brother used C2. Quick and easy.

I’ve used SGC before.

Olsen Firearms is up by my house, I’ll pay the extra $15 or whatever to them. They’re great people.

Yeah, the guy I dealt with was great at Olsen. I'll definitely be back there. It was an above-average gunshop experience.

I've been going to Tripwire Tactical for most of my transfers, but they won't touch shipments from private individuals.

I don't recall the name of the gentleman that helped me, but he was on the older side and it seems like he ran the place.

I'm confused. Does this guy charge $15 for a fade, or does he do gun transfers out of his barbershop?

If you only care about price, you can use aimsurplus' site to search for an ffl. Put a gun in the cart and then look at the list of ffl's that populates, call em to verify they still exist, and don't accidentally buy the gun...but just in case maybe put one in there you'd want anyway.

LOL, that's for a transfer. I think a basic cut is 21, and he also does hot-shaves with a straight-razor, and salon stuff for men-folk.

They're a little bit of a drive for me, but you're making me want to switch barbers!
