This is nothing new. Under the direction of the evil J. Edgar Hoover the FBI engaged in dirty tricks and blackmail.
The FBI should have been dismantled long ago. Like the 'HAL 9000' computer in the film 2001: A Space Odyssey, the FBI has taken on a life of its own and has become another out-of-control federal agency that works to further its own self interest.
The corruption runs deep in the FBI. It needs to be dismantled and purged of its career swamp bureaucrats. Anything short of that will mean business-as-usual for this vile and self-serving agency.
