Early reports are of a 66 yr old man dead after a black bear attacked him while he sat in a chair outside of the cabin he was building. One account says neighbors attempted to scare off the bear during the attack; another version is that a neighbor witnessed the bear eating the man and then shot and killed the bear.

Game and Fish also advises people not to shoot bears unless there’s a threat to you or someone else.

Gosh, thanks; good tip; I will keep that in mind.
In the case that there really is a threat, and shooting the bear is justified, it may be a good idea to HAVE A GODDAMN GUN. It is generally considered better to shoot the bear before he kills somebody, rather than after.

Guy should of had a gun on him or some help, jeez it is bear country out there 10mm 44mag 460 500 would of been good to have
