Fast burning powder

I recently purchased the pietta 1858 Ace Snub nose black powder revolver. Less than a month ago I picked up some .44-.40 blanks from western stage props for a project I was working on. Was wondering if I could empty the cartridge and use the "fast-burning powder" in my new rig. Any thoughts comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

44-40 smokeless blank powder in a blackpowder gun is a NO.
Good way to loose a few fingers and earn a new nickname like "Lucky" or "Stubs". Or get to wear a neat eyepatch as you loose an eye to the cylinder or top strap shrapnel.

Thanks for the reply. Didn't know that it was smokeless powder. Have always been weary of the term "smokeless powder." Like Columbo says "One last question" So smokeless powder can only be used in cartridges; but if it's loose it will explode?

Black powder is classed as a low explosive. It likes to snuggle but will explode if loose, just with not as much energy. Gunpowder (smokeless powder) is a flammable solid, not an explosive, and needs containment to build pressure to move things like bullets down barrels. Do not confuse the two!
