DOJ looking at suppressor laws

Basically, DOJ is considering no longer defending the suppressor law. That could mean no onerous hoops to jump through if you want to own one. Taxes, stamps, etc.

They could sell 80% kits just like the gun clones before. I have a feeling that that whole SCOTUS decision was to give ATF the ability to get rid of the regulations regarding them with the new ATF director now.

I suspect that is how it would end up. And, if state law requires a stamped suppressor to be legal you would still be in jeopardy.

It's not like you can't go and just assemble one from ready made parts off the interwebs. I see anodized clip-cone baffles on Temu marketed as "flashlight reflector bezels". Mmmmmkay,....

And they just happen to fit those aluminum "storage tubes" with a threaded end cap into which a lanyard threads. The same exact thread pattern (1/2x28) as any .22LR barrel or even AR15.

Don't even need a benchtop lathe anymore.

If we have any hope of finding the NFA unconstitutional, we need DOJ to continue defending it so it reaches SCOTUS. Short term victories like this will hurt us in the long run
