Do we have a list of local FFLs for transfers?

And the flood of protests came in today. This has obviously been coordinated by the neighborhood Karen. It'd otherwise be hard to believe five more neighbors would have emailed the City on the same day. I replied very politely, professionally and thoroughly to the ones where email addresses were provided. Two were from neighbors not on my list for notification letters, so they either saw the sign the City planted in my yard or were contacted by the ring leader Karen. One lives over 1/2 mile away, so she definitely didn't stumble upon the sign in my yard. I think this is a lost cause for me.

Perfect example of why I have zero interest in living in a suburban environment, and why I'm now looking at moving from Desert Hills / New River to somewhere truly rural - and why I hate nanny-state government. Being required to seek "approval" to do something that is otherwise legal, from your home, is stupid.

I tell people who "own" their own, they never will own it, ever. The tax man has a lien in perpetuity, you have to ask permission to do anything, and it's forever costing money in repairs, upkeep, and insurance. You're renting, period, it hasn't changed, kinda why I'll never own "property" again, did it once, learned my lesson.

You aren't wrong... On the other hand - there are still places where interference is minimal - or at least "much less."

Oh, I agree, the problem is, tech wise, they will find you, and tax you whenever and however they can. There is no freedom in the land of freedom now, we have become the slaves on the tax plantation, and they won't let us free. Our bondage is built into the system we currently exist in, and until that disappears, things won't change.

Wow, you are already in a perfect 'hybrid' area. Rural, yet within easy drive to Anthem amenities, and Carefree entertainment. There's also the Shangri-La Ranch...

There's still lots of good people out here... but the number of commieforniastan HOA Karen transplants grows by the day - and I'm getting old and cranky enough that I don't care for it.

As to Shangri-La... ever been there? I understand that it ain't what you imagine... and is not for the faint of heart. A friend of mine had a mobile mechanic business and used to get called out there to work on RVs on the regular... he joked that the first time he went out he imagined it would be something like a nude beach on the French Riviera... he had delusions of eye-candy dancing in his head... Turns out it's a lot more "your 70's swinger grandpa and grandma types... :-)

Got another flood of protests yesterday, but also discovered another nearby home-based FFL, who let me pick his brain. He also had never heard of this permit, but lives in the same neighborhood. My hearing is tomorrow and I can't imagine it's gonna be anything more than them telling me to pound sand. I don't want to name names, but I feel compelled to mention the other non-permitted home-based businesses pretty openly operating with impunity. One, who is a pretty flagrant violator, has recently started keeping his garage door down and even placed foil in the garage door windows. I think he knows the Karen is going to be bringing heat down.

And, just when you thought you "owned" your home.

My hearing was a fiasco, permit denied. Two neighborhood Karens even brought a lawyer who was one of the most obnoxious lawyers I've ever seen. I think he actually hurt their case. But the denial was based on the likelihood for a negative impact on property values. My counter that we already have three home-based FFLs in the neighborhood no one has noticed while property values continue to soar fell upon deaf ears. I would consider an appeal, but a neighbor I really like is about list his house for sale and I don't want that sign the City will again plant in my front yard to impact his sale. But I do plan to alert the zoning dept. to the numerous and egregious non-permitted businesses operating in the neighborhood and to complain about egregious unequal application of the law and code enforcement in this regard.

Update.

Things are moving along now, since I got a tiny commercially-zoned sublet from a friend. My interview is next week. I'll be right by I-17 and Rose Garden, hope to be up and running by March 1.

That's right up the road from my office. Let us know when you are up and running. How much do you think you'll be charging for transfers?

Probably $20. But that ain't gonna pay the rent. I will get some dist. accounts set up once FFL is in hand and I'll offer minor gunsmithing like sight and short reset trigger kit installs.
