I think the old site had one, but I can't find it here.

Anyway, I just submitted my app for a home-based FFL today. I've done tons of transfers with local kitchen table FFLs over the years, finally decided I need to get my own and stay on the right side of the law. I'm not doing this to replace my real job income, but would like to let the locals know I'll be available for transfers in a month or two.

Cool, let me know when you get it, might have you bring some things in.

Have a great, gun carryin', Kenpo day

Location? Did this for years, myself, so have no problem using you, if you're in my 'hood! Good luck!

Yeah, I knew about the GB directory. But I would always lean toward members here, if there were a list of them. I don't know that I want to be listed on the GB directory, as I've heard a lot of stories about guns just showing up on the front porch with no contact info for the transferee. I bought one from a guy in PA who shipped the gun loaded via USPS to my FFL and left it on the porch, no signature required. I don't know that I want to deal with total strangers.

definatly interested and your not to far from me. Put up your contact info when you get set up!

Anyone here go through this process in Phoenix? My address is Cave Creek, but belongs to City of Phoenix. ATF is saying I need a home occupation permit from them, which is a $490 app fee, requires letters to neighbors, a public hearing and takes at least six weeks. I know another home-based FFL in the neighborhood, who said he never had to deal with this.

I don't think making the FFL app process easier is going to be anyone's top priority. And if I start this home occupation permit process this week, I'll still probably have my FFL before the new admin. takes office. Anyway, I don't know why I need this permit if I'm not going to have increased traffic at my house. And I really don't know why ATF thinks it's their place to police city zoning regs. Do they check to see if my property taxes are current and electric panel box is up to code too?

^^^ That's Phoenix, OREGON, not Arizona. Thanks, but ain't gonna work.
Ooops my mistake on the links.

Where did you see the $450 app fee, I started searching for that, but found none and only found the Phoenix link I shared.

I know there's another FFL in my neighborhood who did not have to get a home occupation permit. But I'm mostly through the process of getting mine. It's another $490 added to my 2024 expenses before I can make a dime of revenue. But it will shake out in January or so.

Part of the permit application process requires me to send a letter to all the neighbors within 150' of my house. I did that last week. Wouldn't you know it, the neighborhood Karen emailed me a list of questions, likely fed to her by some anti-gun website she looked up. The questions were pretty silly. I expect she'll lodge some kind of protest, but I answered all her questions very politely and thoroughly and will bring the printed email exchange to my hearing. Oh, and I found another FFL in the neighborhood I'll call later today and pick his brain.

And today was the first formal protest from a neighbor. The Karen I mentioned above has been silent. A different one emailed the city and they forwarded it to me. Still, I think one complaint out of 21 letters mailed shouldn't be much of a problem. Of course, this woman lives nextdoor to a guy who's running a real business out of his garage, which can be seen, smelled and heard from the outside and he generates extra traffic from his customers. But he told me he had never even heard of this permit. And I doubt this lady has ever complained, since it's not gun-related.

And the flood of protests came in today. This has obviously been coordinated by the neighborhood Karen. It'd otherwise be hard to believe five more neighbors would have emailed the City on the same day. I replied very politely, professionally and thoroughly to the ones where email addresses were provided. Two were from neighbors not on my list for notification letters, so they either saw the sign the City planted in my yard or were contacted by the ring leader Karen. One lives over 1/2 mile away, so she definitely didn't stumble upon the sign in my yard. I think this is a lost cause for me.
