I wonder if perhaps they got denied on the NICS check and decided to play the race card. It almost sounds that way.

Sounds like the gun counter employee is being overcautious about a possible straw purchase. I'm sure the employee(s) could have handled it better, but I'm not on the customers side. I am also sure the employee's recounting of the event will be entirely different.

Treated badly, jump to the race card and make a scene.

So many facts missing here
What an incomplete story

This “story” is a perfect example of why I don’t watch any television news. Journalism is a dead profession. Local news channel gets out their Jump To Conclusions mat without doing any actual investigating. “He’s black, there is no possible way he could be in the wrong...”. Maybe he answered 11a incorrectly in the 4473. Maybe he answered “yes” to 11b-11l. Maybe he got delayed or denied by FBI NICS. Zero investigation.

Watch the story again, the gentleman stated that he had just completed the paperwork and had not yet handed it back over to the counter worker. Based on that information there is no way that he could have filled the 4473 out incorrectly and that was the basis for the denial.

It just sounds like they thought two individuals knew each other and assumed it was a straw purchase. It sounds stupid as hell considering he narrowed down the 22 based upon their needs and budgets. Sounds like dicks was just being a dick.

And must say, some gun shops make black folks feel unwelcome, and as someone who spends thousands of dollars a year on firearms, their loss.

Saw my neighbor, who happens be black, outside doing yard work over the weekend. Noticed he was carrying. He really did strike me as as gun guy before . His shirt had flipped over the bottom of the grip/holster. I mentioned it to him. That got us on a long conversation about shooting which lead to him telling me about wanting to build an 80% AR.

Warmed my heart. Lol
