Dick's keeps taking the hit for their policies - slowly selling off to Sportsman's Warehouse

Dick's never truly got out of gun stuff,...just at their brand name locations. But their division of stores called Field & Stream - designed to be more like Cabela's or Bass Pro or Sportsman's Warehouse - continues to sell guns and gun stuff, which has been hypocritically problematic for Dick's. To truly compete in their market, Field & Stream could not afford to not carry guns and stuff, Dick's had this public stance they had taken. And word has it that customers, pissed off at Dick's, were choosing to spend their money elsewhere. Combine that with how Bass Pro consolidated their dominance after buying out and absorbing Cabela's;....Dick's needed to either step up their game or get out of it.

So it looks like Sportsman's Warehouse might well be eventually buying more Field & Stream stores from Dick's, if maybe not the whole brand in the near future.

Too bad they've taken the stance they did that is ultimately negatively affecting their business.

My minimal dealings with them have been positive.

My GF bought me a new gun safe for my birthday from there. When we go it home, unboxed in location, we noticed it was damaged. They didn't have any more of that size in stock. They ungraded us at a HUGE discount, deliver and placed the new safe the next day.

Hope field and stream have better customer service, I abandoned Dicks on my 2nd visit for being ignored a long time standing at a counter, and other reasons. I hope the dry and blow away.

Yeah, I couldn't come up with a better name after they decided to get all political. But, they can do whatever they want and that's fine, I'll just keep shopping somewhere else.

Looks like DICK'S might have made the right decision to not sell a gun to this guy after all.

hehe, a slow demise for being stupid managers of others money, the management should be held liable for driving it in ground .forfeit all proceeds they have recieved since stupid decision. should be consequences for stupid. besides i thought they already died, and frankly do not know of anyone who goes there except ...............you can name them. :dance:
