Hopefully they go belly up. Never had great prices on anything else in the store anyways.
 
They probably think the only sales they have lost are guns and ammunition. They don't realize that a guy who is shopping for a baseball glove for his son is going to go elsewhere, because of their gun-hate posturing.
 
When i asked the kid at the counter for a mountain lion tag...
He said.... The drawer ended months ago!.... Never went back.... Good riddance
 
Serves them right. I would have boycotted them but I never shopped there anyway.
 
I'm with the status quo here, fuggem, but I'm sure since gun sales are a really tight margin in general, it's not killing them, and they've probably weighed this one out in advance, like all greedy companies.

Profit margin was pretty good for dicks on guns. A couple times I asked the gun counter person if they used to sell jewelry?

Your margins must be great as your markup rivals mall jewelry stores. At this point I just quit. He was too stupid to even get the fact I'm screwing with him

I lost him at margin. Maybe I should have tossed him a copy of retail math for dummies.
 
Since you were talking to him about Jewelry markup, ask him if they use keystone or double keystone or even more for a markup.
 
All brick and mortar stores are struggling these days but this particular situation with Big Dick's is all their own making. They choose to alienate part of their customer base thinking that the remaining customers will make up for the decline due to managements "high moral" standards. I hope they're in for a very rude awakening when they continue to decline in sales. Their prices never were competitive anyway so they won't be missed.
