Well we all know the trash issue, which it seems the amateurs seem to ignore that carry in , carry out, but even with education there are those that have no respect for rules, or even commons sense in regards to keeping ones work space clear and clean.

But that is not the big issue, while it is one of the items in consideration for the soon i believe demise of shooting on blm land, and local shooting institutions, to be controled by the local gubermints, to control shooting over all, and once they have that in control which they have begun here, with the advent of several new supposed sites that have not only shut down what were decent desert shooting areas, but have not even come close to finalizing projects, and imo the one on lake pleasant road, i suspect they spent half the budget running a fence around a imo again a poorly designed shooting site, if one looks at fence install, it was not cheap and imo not called for, if you want to be stupid and travel towards the sound of gun shots and not be a person of knowledge in regards to self preservation, well then you deserve the results of your ignorance.

i digress, i did forewarn several when the blm dept wanted to do this, having dealth with them for decades on leases ect. on the old ranch.
they all talk out of the side of their mouth, the rank and file could care less, as long as they deposit their check every two weeks.

anyway, the move to control public land shooting has begun, and will grow under shrimpdics admin. It has begun as a simple plan to set up ranges, slow to complete, once in action, will begin the shut down of areas not designated shooting spots, by the blm leadership, each area of blm's leadership treats their area as if it was their fiefdom, it is not, and a fight always insues in regards to their shiat plans, we all know what went down in Nevada, its comeing here, its arriving already in Colorado,

the fight is real, and in the next duration of this admin, it will begin to get ugly,
just how they want it, to label shooters to something they are not.

join what you can, do what you can to assist in the fight for this, your kids, grandkids, maynot have even a small percentage of rights we have now.

happy sunday

I have several places in the state forest where I shoot without interference. There is a range about 15 miles away that wants $10.00 to shoot. It is alway full of straphangers/want to be range masters, that run their mouths if they think you committed a range violation. No, I stick to my local spots, and pick them clean when needed. That’s a great part of living in rural Arizona.

I agree with rj, I see this coming down the line sooner then later for sure and not sure we can stop the freight train from rolling over top of us in that fight.

I remember this area being referenced just a few years ago and it was scarce you ever ran into anyone and now the place is packed full every weekend. I had to hit up a couple known spots to find a safe place to shoot. I’ve even noticed more areas people have mowed down desert to create a “new” spot which is no help to the cause. It’s amazing how others have no respect for the land or other people around them. I was able to shoot for about 1.5hrs before some fool rolled up and thought it would be ok to shoot off into the desert without a backdrop. If that wasn’t bad enough another came in a few mins later and picked another “spot” in between, mind you these are perpendicular to the back drop we where using. I packed up and left as I just don’t trust strangers in those situations. I go desert shooting to be left alone and not shoot next to a bunch of people and just don’t get why others feel they should come shoot next to you or make up their own spot.

I specifically remember seeing that fence and said wtf is that supposed to be? That is one expensive fence that has no real benefit which fits the BLM way of things. They do this crap in the off-road world as well.

Decades ago when I lived in San Diego, there was a spot off I-8 that you could shoot with few around.

Of course, one day I am trying unsuccessfully to get a Mini-14 to group, and up pulls a car full of local type gangbangers.

They pile out and proceed to shoot up the dirt a few yards in from of them. No comrende, so no way I was going down range to my target.

Never went back there.
