Hello,

Looking for any recommendations on where to look for a an open place to do some shooting near Tucson. A place to do some pistol drills, and zero some rifles out to a couple hundred yards.

I do have a 4x4 pickup, so I can venture off the beaten path.

Thank you

Off of 83 to rosemont junction. Some legal marked spots to shoot. Go down there often. general area.

used to drive over gun sites pass, but the rosemont mine blocked all the roads now.

I know this is a little old but would still like to comment.

Redington Pass near mile marker 7. Actually its nearly all national forest out there, so if you take a side road further down you are good to go.

Mt Lemmon highway at the turn right after a sign that says "Molino Canyon Vista." Its all national forest there too, but way more people hiking and more trails.

I've also been out somewhere between Vail and Mescal on the north side of highway, you go on dirt road parallel to highway and end up right next to railroad tracks by a couple massive gravel piles. Right about here 32.0193403, -110.6468269

I wonder how overgrown the road is now since we had a very rainy monsoon. I have not been out there in about a year.
