Man, I never meet Daniel but talked with him several times. Always enjoyed his pictures he posted of girls with guns.

Rest easy, brother

Condolences to the members here who knew him well.

Is it impolite to ask what led this? Covid, or something else?

I wanted to ask the same, generally curious when I hear things like this happening. Totally understand if the family wants to keep it in their inner circle.

Man I forgot about is fascination with nuns, we need a remembrance thread!

Daniel was a good dude. I have been without a good gunsmith since he quit working on guns. He will be missed

100% I too have not found another gunsmith to follow up with.
I called him a friend as well.
He went above and beyond on many projects he did for me.
I hope he did not suffer long.

I spent a lot of time with Daniel when he was doing a project for me. As others have said he had a very different personality and you had to know him to appreciate it. My project required Derek to do the work and Daniel to refinish the piece.

Having those two guys together gave me some good laughs and a desire to kill both of them.

Mark, do you know if/when/where there will be a service?

I still have the Draco he SBR'd for me. I'll keep it a little closer to my heart now. He was there for my 1st OC Dinner many moons ago and gave a warm welcome, as a friend. I'll miss that f***er...

I remember that one!

He made some REALLY cool guns, we should all share pics if we have 'em. I will take some of the AOW's he made for me. He was a MASTER with Mossberg's.

From the "random funny shit Dan did" files

My folks have a .38 that I got from Daniel as a basket case. He needed some parts or something and offered it in trade. I figured it'd be an easy refinish and I'd have another revolver around here. I get this bag of parts and go through and parkerize and coat everything and start putting it together and there were a couple little springs and pins left over and I went through the gun a couple times to see if there was some detent or something I missed. I called Dan and he was already doing that retarded snicker he would do when he was trying not to laugh. Dufus put a couple extra parts in there just to mess with me....it worked 😄

And was also my kid's introduction to porn. Was over there helping Dan on some project and Monkey was about 5 then and was running around the house. I went to check on him and he is standing there in shock as the screensaver on Dan's computer scrolls through pics of various naked nuns and other random debauchery 😄

ahhhhhhhhhh..............the nuns.................signature GlockMonger...........on the old board, I was glued to his posts..........rather SOMETHING was glued............

I remember Meeting him for the first time down at Montz Auto Renditions when Dan was doing some work with Phoenix Firearms. He had one of the models in his photos with him. I ended up doing several deals with him over the years. Last one was about 5 years ago. Too bad he was already missed around here. Gone but not forgotten.

Sheet, fok, dam

Monger was an artist, a bit quirky. I had many dealings with him, I still have two of his creations, a Walther P-38 and a Stevens 12 gauge sxs , true story several years ago after he worked my P-38 I went back to him at his place on 7th street and said that the P-38 was jamming up, he took it into the shop a (bedroom) of his doublewide loaded up a mag, cranked up the stereo and ran the full mag into a 5 gallon paint bucket full of sand and a yellow pages in a closet, gave it back to me and said fokker works great, still works great.
