being a wet year, gonna be a bumper crop of small growth in the desert, might have to expect an early fire closure this year, and with the blm supposedly working on some ranges, gonna be even uglier to find a spot to let go.
love me some rain, but...............................................

Yep.. I live north of town on the edge of the desert..many of the weeds in the acre behind my place are almost waist high..ugh!

Oh yeah, expect more and earlier closures than last year for rim activities. Looks like I may need to buy a gas fire pit for the whole season. Yikes

I was out in the desert 2 weeks ago and hung out in an area of mostly dirt.
Went back to same area last weekend and the place was Totally covered in grass and wild flowers to the extent you couldn't even see the dirt. It was unreal.

On the plus side...

Didn't put in a winter garden this year because we were going to be traveling. With all the rain got a nice volunteer crop of butter lettuce coming along!

Funny, not 5 minutes ago I was having this same conversation with my dad.
Come spring all that shit is going to dry out and turn into tinder :(

couple weeks ago you could find every piece of brass from a shoot, now ya gotta almost mow the weeds to find them, lol, love the desert, it can recover so fast with a bit of aqua
