Cumulus Media and Westwood One have agreed to terms with conservative commentator Dan Bongino to host a daily three-hour show from 12-3pm eastern.



Bongino currently hosts a daily podcast for Westwood One that since March 2020 has been repurposed into a one-hour syndicated show on over 100 stations including 790 KABC Los Angeles and 560 KSFO San Francisco.



The new show would air live in the timeslot currently held by Limbaugh on many if not all Cumulus owned Conservative Talk and News Talk stations.



Bongino is a former NYPD officer and Secret Service agent turned conservative pundit and investor in digital properties including Parler and Rumble. He has previously served as a fill-in host at WMAL Washington and WBAL Baltimore and multiple syndicated talkers including Sean Hannity.



An official announcement should be forthcoming by early next week.

But, Bongino has Hodgkin's Lymphoma, so he is not in the best shape medically, and might have trouble running at 100% efficiency.

Here's hoping he is one of the ones who recovers fully and lives a long, strong life.
 
You know who I was really hoping would take that spot .. Trump.

Saw Bongino for the first time last week or so following a link xerts posted and really enjoyed his show. So much so I have been listening to some of his podcasts ... still .. he doesn't have the following Trump does. He also seems to be like many of the talk show people in that their content is reactionary and not visionary.

I think Trump had/has his pulse on something. His messaging for me was spot on although I sometimes cringed at his delivery but especially in light of the clown show going on since the election I think his pro America first stance is more relevant than ever and he can obviously ignite some people to action.

Unfortunately .. he wasn't a politician and if you are going to enter politics you have to know the rules even if you want to flout them so I wouldn't want to see him run again but I would like to see him keep hammering home the failings of the left and what I thought was important food for thought on how America was and can continue to be about America and succeed.

I personally think he would have been awesome for that spot. Wouldn't have had to watch his tone or what he said or didnt say and he likes the spotlight and performing. From the sidelines and as a cheerleader for common sense he would have helped the country immeasurably and helped his bottom line and brand a bit.

There is no denying that precovid he was doing miraculous stuff .. under heavy attack ... use that to push a proper agenda going forward.
 
I thought Mark Steyn, the English guy, did a great job guest hosting for Rush, he would have been a good choice.
 
So far, it's been a guest-"guide", du-jour, along with interspertions of Rush greatness over the years.
Reaslitically, they could continue that way for a long, long time. I'm wondering if the risk of his passing wasn't accounted for in his last contract. In other words, does the show have to go on....at least until some set -date? Perhaps to avoid paying out massive non-performance fees to the network, advertisers, creditors, etc?
 
Another vote for Mark Stein. He has the intelligence, and the humor to pull it off. Bongino has neither, and is a hothead too. I can see him insulting callers, and hanging up on them.

Hopefully that's not an issue. I like Bongino's podcast and the main reason I cant listen to Levin is his popping off into insults when he fails to immediately convince a disagreeing caller. too damn much screaming from someone who "gets it" 95% of the time...
