So, I just got my trump bux today and I'm trying to decide if I want get a P-07 or a Sig P229.

I need random people on the internet to help make this decision for me.

Plus I want to debate the pros and cons of each gun because I like both for different reasons.

Congrats.....for my vote have to go with P229 only because they fit my hand and I shoot them so well, lot of experience with them. Thinking accuracy and reliability similar.

SAO 229 Leigon......now you got me thinking about my Trump bux.....

I agree. They are pretty and I want a "metal framed" gun again. I used to have a P228 and fell upon hard times and had to sell it.

Kept tight groups, loved the controls on it, felt great in my hands and pointed like a finger.

CDNN has certified pre-owned P229 for $499.

Others too.

Sights, grips, beavertail, trigger, finish to name a few, not excited about the name, but for me the SAO is the determining reason, espically being a 1911 guy.

That's how I ended up getting good deals on my P320 and M&P. Then just bought threaded SiCo barrels in 9mm....ya know, so I could shoot suppressed. :D

p229 has my vote. I'm sure a p07 is fine, but it still seems new and gimmicky to me.

It's been around for a decade. How is that new? And what is gimmicky about it?

P229 for me. Just bought two of them in the last year. Thought about the CZ but the Sig just felt better in my hands and pointed better, for me. Put a Gray Guns kit in one of them and the trigger pull in both DA or SA is great. I know there are after market parts for the CZ's but the basic Sig gun looked to be better made than the CZ's I looked at. Mine are both 40's but I bought a 9mm conversion barrel and a factory 357 Sig barrel, I love multi-cal choices all with the same frame, trigger and sights.

For a firearm, a decade is really not that long of a time. I think the trigger/safety and interchangeable back straps is gimmicky.

I'm sure it probably works fine, shoots good, etc, etc. In fact, I can't think of any $500 pistols that don't work as advertised or that I wouldn't want to defend my life with.

Not familiar at all with the CZ, but the P229 is really solid, and it has a great track record.

Guess we just have different definitions of new. I'd consider the P365 new but not the P320.

Not sure what you mean by the trigger/safety but quite a few of the major manufacturers of polymer handguns have interchangable backstraps. (Sig, HK, Glock, CZ, Walther, S&W, XD, FN) Seems to be the way most are going.

Yeah, I guess I consider anything that has come out this century to be new, or at least newish.

Maybe it's hard for me to relate to the utility of adjustable back straps because I'm pretty average size and shape, but it still feels to me like it is more of a feature that helps sells guns more than it is actually useful.

I have a P-07 Urban Grey with the threaded barrel, very comfortable and great shooter, I did swap the controls from decock to safety.
