I may be the minority here but I don't think it's the "Dems" that are going to pass gun legislation, I think it's the US gov't that's going to pass gun legislation.

Dems are willing scapegoats for gun control

Repubs are willing scapegoats for big bus and war

It's a false dialectic and I think everyone needs to stop believing it

I agree that people don't always fit neatly into the categories that we assign them to, but I know an awful lot of Dems that want to push for the "common sense" gun control measures. If you're telling me that a large percentage of Dems are actually against passing more federal gun legislation, then why aren't they speaking up more openly about that?

On the other hand, I've heard a ton of Repubs (especially in the last 4 years) openly against further wars and corporatism, so I'm not so sure they're willing scapegoats.

I do agree that many in the upper levels of government would like to see the 2nd Amendment repealed. They don't want anyone else to have the power but themselves. And I don't think that's just the Dems that feel that way.
