CCW wait time

I recently submitted my CCW forms and got the permit in probably less than two weeks. Very good service.

Of course, they DID get my middle name wrong and I had to request it be corrected and re-issued. I sent an Email to them yesterday and today I got a response they would send a new permit out tomorrow in the mail. Should be just fine.

Compared to the Illinois process, AZDPS is fast and reasonable it seems to me. So far anyways....

Update:
I sent in application on 29 June. It was returned on 3 July because the Money Order did not have my address filled in. This is, of course, a bogus requirement as I use hundreds of MOs and never fill in the purchasers address. Never questioned.

However, the good news is that the application got immediate attention and was inspected and returned inside of 4 days. I sent it back on 3 July and will see when the actual CCW arrives.

Following.

My dumbass let it expire and was too lazy (maybe busy) to get fingerprinted or get a money order. Finally Did that on Wednesday and mailed out same day. It’s technically a new application, but DPS Folks said shouldn’t be more than 10 days since they had all my previous info. I’ll post when I get my card

Previous posts are mostly from 2018 and before.

2020 Update:
Less than 2 weeks in July start to finish including a return for correction.

Followed up with bank for money order, never cashed; DPS never received it. Lo and behold, After phone call to local post office, USPS returns to sender. In the DPS addressed envelope. Reason was, address doesn’t exist. Over 30 days usps had it and did nothing with it. Postage was more than sufficient. Went to UPS, cost an extra $10 and delivered.

My local ups store said this is one of several dozen they’ve seen just like this? Not a conspiracy guy, but same local post office not delivering to DPS???

I'm a bit confused. I just mailed mine last week and the address on the application is a post office box. UPS doesn't deliver to post office boxes. What address did you mail your's to?

The pre addressed envelope read as follows:

Arizona Department of Public Safety
Attn: concealed weapons permit unit
2222 W. Encanto Blvd.
Phoenix, AZ 85009

Mine sat in our office mailbox for a month before someone brought it in thinking I had received mail.
Turns out USPS either doesn't accept outgoing mail from our box, or they looked at it for a month assuming it was addressed to the office. Hopefully there's not an expiration date for the fingerprint cards.

Keep that in mind when you mail in your vote....

Agree 100%

Postal service is just stellar with fulfilling their commitments.

Side note, emailed CCW people, they’re pretty decent folks and are quick to respond. Should have my card back by end of the week/early next.
