If it was taken as evidence, you can get it back after the sentencing, since you are the last registered owner. I had one stolen and got it back after 9 years from TPD. You have to follow up with them often, but you CAN get it back.

I had a firearm stolen and am contacted once a year by the SPD detective asking if I have recovered it. Without me reporting the firearm as stolen they how would they know it was mine, the firearm was not registered. Not understanding what you mean by registered?

There was a stolen firearms section on the old AZS site and I was amazed how many posted their firearms were stolen, I had mine posted there in case anyone came across it.

I have came across a few buyers/sellers I figured were from commiefornia, asking to sigh a three page bill of sale wanting all my personal information, pics of myDL etc........I just turn and walk away.

Mine was 4473'd to me, I bought it new, and sold it to someone from work. It was recovered by the police, and they contacted me.

I thought it was BS, but had nothing to hide, so I played along. Voila! I got it back.

Almost all my horsetrading is done in person, paperless, following the Arizona Revised Statutes. ARIZONA driver's license (not a state ID which almost anyone can get with a utility bill), typical questions required, count cash, hand over gun. But always local. I also check their license plates and take a photo when they are pulling out.

I had a car with FL plates show up to buy a gun I was selling. Turned out the be "the brother" of the guy I had been communicating with. Because of that, I asked the guy, who also looked under age, for his AZ DL. He said he had a passport. I walked. His "brother" texted me a few minutes later and offered me more $$ to do the deal. I told him to eff off. Then I called a Phoenix PD friend of mine. He said he'd put me in touch with someone on their gun squad or whatever they call it. Never heard from them about it. Those brothers were absolutely going to buy a gun that day, not legally at all and the cops weren't gonna lift a finger about.
