Black lives Matters is planning to paint a mural on city property at the Arizona State Capital building.

The Phoenix mayor and city council are meeting on September 3, 2020 to approve this.
If you do not want Phoenix turning into Portland Oregon, call the mayors office and tell them you oppose this. 602-262-7111 CALL NOW

I also called the governor's office since BLM's plan is to place this near the state capital.

The report attached (page 256) provides information on a potential pilot project for the installation of Black Lives Matter street mural in downtown Phoenix. The Street Mural Pilot Program topic has been added to the City’s Transportation, Infrastructure and Innovation Subcommittee agenda scheduled on September 2, 2020. The subcommittee provides policy guidance on issues related to: infrastructure; transportation; transit; streets; aviation/airport; water; technology; smart cities; innovation; sustainability. The Subcommittee meeting time begins at 9:00 a.m. Residents may view and participate in the meeting to express their views on any published agenda item.

Please know this item must be approved by the full body of the Phoenix City Council before moving forward.

While I understand not everyone is on Facebook and it can be a bit of times full on partisan, it is ten times better than twatter and 75 times better than gun boards.

There is no other media site where I can be able to watch posts from my former soldiers that I had the privilege to lead and mentor, and being able to react to any signs of distress. I am only one man but I have had to step in numerous times to being an actual prevention to a possible or actual suicidal cry for help.

It's a way to get actual answers from the industry reps, vetted subject matter experts, actual professionals, and people with better hands on when having questions that need to be answered faster and noise free from the 'boards. If I want to ask Ash Hess if the 50/200 for an offset is the best choice, I can and get the answer. If I want a custom length handguard from Forward Controls, I can ask Roger, pay the man, and get a tracking number ASAP. Stuff like that.

Plus I like the memes being posted, and the malamutes & German Shepherd pics, because the wife and I have them and are very smitten by the two breeds.

But with all that said, YES, there is the occasional cancer, aids, and ebola just like everywhere else. We all try and say so an so is better, but deep down inside we all know that we've got our own set of retards just like everybody else. Block them, gone forever literally from your Facebook world. Or keep the trash for whatever reason you may have. Like it or hate, meh. But let's not kid ourselves about it being not useful.

Very good description of Facebook. I follow numerous gun and knife pages and like having current information on many of my interests. I really enjoy interacting with like-minded folks. Thank you.

First while he black population has grown since I moved out here it still only makes up about 4.4% of the population of Arizona. So ... who are the elected heros genuflecting for??

Second .. if its tax payer funded ... can I vote on the measure. Is the black population contributing so much to our tax revenue that their contributions cover the cost of crappy lettering in the street because if not and you are desperate to paint crap on the streets I vote for "All lives matter" you know .. being Christian and all.

Third ... were I one of the other Non whites .. I would be really pissed off. There are a metric ton of people of Mexican ancestry in Arizona .. some legally, some not, some in transition and some here since before it was America .. where is their special street painting?

I think that statistic has grown exponentially in Tucson, 4.4% seems low, they are everywhere you look here now.

It usually depends where you are. People tend to tribe up. When I was in Laveen and the 2008 crash happened and hud and section 8 were gobbling up homes the neighborhood had a large uptick in Black folk but honestly .. that is the only time I was around a lot of African Americans since moving out here.

Now I am in East East mesa .. if I see a black person once every couple months its weird. Same when I lived in Scottsdale.

I think the total population was somewhere in the 2%+ when I moved out here so more are moving in or they breed faster. Either way .. still doesnt warrant a crappy sign painted in the street.

One of the things I did in my Museum life was write Educational development pieces for exhibits. Basically .. why should this exhibit happen and what information will it provide and how will it provide it visually and through signage.

When the subject of languages on signage would come up I would always fight against including any language but English. Not because I hate other people but .. by inclusion you are automatically excluding others. Its not a positive message.

I like "all lives matter" I dont know how it got a bad rap. If a PO kills some Asian guy without due cause or concern .. his life means as much to me as any other.

If we are addressing inequality or police brutality then lets address those issues. making things more equal by slanting them in a new direction is silly and will only lead to another group of people feeling marginalized.
