I came across these online today. I have never used them but it seems like it's worth looking into. Their website states products are made in the USA, they are windproof and water proof.

I have been using cotton balls dipped in wax for years. Using dental cotton roles looks like a great improvement on my process, being long and small diameter it is easier to bend and break up the center for easy lighting. I usually have to use a knife to dig out a ragged flap for easy lighting in cold temps.

I could make these for damn near free. My wife is into making candles (and burns a ton), so there is always wax waste around. And, she manages a dental clinic. Free cotton.

Old film canister or small prescription bottles with cotton balls soaked in Vaseline. Works good.

Or dryer lint instead of cotton balls. It's free, and with vaseline, it will burn like a candle. Plus a spark from a ferro rod will set it off, first try.
