I find it hilarious that the State issues both CCW and MMJ cards.

I've heard of folks who brag about having both... not very smart!

There were a couple of guys who worked for a local gun store/shooting range who got fired for this exact thing.

Only because gun owners are worse Anne Frank's neighbors about turning each other in.

But it still is a schedule 1 drug and until a drug company comes up with a medical reason, and patten it, it will stay that way. And when they do, that company will be wealthy for many years.

Big facts.

When they are not doing that they are writing letters to the ATF asking "mother may I?" hold a piece of plastic and velcro to their shoulder.

I would like to see a bill like this pass. I know a couple of guys that have medical cards for chronic pain and they can not own firearms. However, alcoholics and people on prescription anti-psychotics, pain killers, anti-depressants can... It does not make sense to me.

Thank you!

There is no way that any form of government could see that you have an MMJ card. Its protected under HIPPA is it not? State legalization wont change the background check forms that ask you if you use MJ. Its all bullshit imo. If alcohol is legal weed should be too

Yup. If you can take Vicodin, percoccets, oxycontin et al AND drink alcohol then weed is a non issue.

At the end of the day the individual is the one responsible for his/her actions if under the influence or not.

If you take that cocktail, you would be lucky to stand up.

The way I see it, it is a gray zone. If you have a MMC, marijuana is no longer an illegal drug but a medication. What if you are in an accident and are prescribed a potent opioid pain killer and own a firearm. Do you loose the right to own it. Good topic with a lot of ways to look at it.

Nope if you are on weed you shouldn't have a gun.

I want to "Ok, boomer" you so bad right now lol.

Pray tell what is the difference of being intoxicated or being stoned?

I've been around plenty of pot heads and I've never seen them do anything violent, reckless or stupid. Besides have couch lock and be highly unmotivated.

People who are drunk? Big difference. It's absolutely the complete inverse of that and you can never ever ever reason with someone who is drunk.

If you advocate stripping of rights, you shouldn't have any.
As for alcohol there is no illness that it treats. Pot treats a lot of illnesses. If you have a card for pot the state has no idea when you are on it. But you could be on it at any time legally. So I don't believe you should be able to have a gun. If you drive impaired alcohol or with pot you go to jail. It has to be thought like that. There needs to be a baseline for this. You want a gun . Give up your pot card. This needs to be cut and dry no grey area.
