Anyone been to Barrett-Jackson this weekend?

Website says a couple years ago they went heavy with bag checks, small clutch purses and weapon screening. Does anyone know if that's still a thing?

Just want the woman and I to be properly equipped on arrival.

Thanks!

looks like it, From their website -

Clear Bag Policy remains in effect. Guests will only be permitted to enter the auction site with clutch purses that do not exceed 6.5×4.5” or clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that do not exceed 12x6x12” (or one-gallon clear plastic bags). Clear bags will be for sale near the auction entrance. Security officers will be checking all bags at the auction entrance, and guests will be screened for weapons and contraband.
Weapons of any type, video cameras, skateboards, drones, coolers and animals (with the exception of service animals to assist guests with disabilities) are among prohibited items. Only one sealed bottle of water (under 17 oz.) will be allowed. Other outside beverages and food are prohibited.

Thank you, yeah I found that after I posted...should have checked first lol

Understandable from their standpoint, but I don't like it...

Unfortunately they have had some issues with drunk assholes in previous years. Current policies are an obvious evolution from previous events.

“Weapons screening” at Barrett-Jackson isn’t, and never was, like going thru a security checkpoint at the Ben Gurion airport, the Pentagon, or even a Maricopa County government building. People have had no issue entering Westworld with a LOT of metal on their person and I’ll leave at that. Hypothetically if someone was going thru their entrance with a pocket full of change, a huge ring of keys, a “Mr. T” starter kit of jewelry, crew served wrist watch, cell phone, and other metallic STUFF it might be wise to not be wearing an Oathkeeper, New Black Panther Party, or “KILL EM’ ALL LET GOD SORT EM’ OUT!” T shirt.

I always want to be unarmed around drunken assholes. It wouldn't be fair to them if I was able to defend myself against their rages...

This post saved me a long ass walk back to the car later this week. Thank you guys!!!

This post saved me a wasted trip. If I walked back to my car, it would be to leave, not to put my gun in the trunk. It's clear that they don't want "people like me" around. I'm OK with that. Have a fun time at the car show.
