Ballistic Printing?

Seems like it to me. The water shoots up probably 10 ft or more. No reason its not applying the same force down. If its a thin enough sheet of soft copper... well im guessing but it seems plausible
 
We did this years ago as part of the Hunter Education show n' tell, using a block of ice, sheet tin and a silver dollar. Wetter then explosive forming but the same principle.
 
Explosive hydroforming? Sure. There's enough pressure exerted on the copper plate in the moments before the sides of the water container blows out to force the plate onto the letters.

Not exactly the same thing but a couple examples of using an explosive force to form metal.
