Had an ad up with about $250 worth of Ammo

Just recently had a guy in all sincerity contact me and offer me $40 for the whole lot. " its all I have, will you take it for the lot"

I felt stupid explaining that I am older, have money in the bank, wont die if I don't sell this, don't have a drug problem and need a fix and didnt steal it from someones car.

No sir ... I will not sell it for $40

I can always just put it back in the closet for a rainy day.

I've noticed that recently, regardless of the venue or the product I'm selling, people seem to be lowballing a lot more than they used to. It seems worse than when the economy crashed around 2008/2009 during the housing crisis.

I guess they want to take advantage of anyone who's out of work and in need of quick cash. The thing is, if someone really needed quick cash, they likely wouldn't take the time to do pics and list something on Armslist, Gunbroker, the forums, etc. Usually someone who takes the time to do this is not in dire straits or they would have already pawned the item for pennies on the dollar.

Hey, I've got a question. As far as on line credibility goes, who is the more repugnant.

1. The guy offering a low price of $300 for a $600 gun.
or
2. The guy asking $600 for a $300 gun. (which seems to be the norm on any gun site right now.)

Option one. To ask for 50% of what someone is asking is rude and too much. Everyone wants a deal, but it has to make sense. That is also simple economics of supply and demand though, but for guns, its not very likely for guns to lose value.

Option 2 is just simple economics. Supply and demand. Nothing wrong with that.

Armslist always was subpar compared to back page in the good old days. I do find good deals on Ar15.com in today’s marketplace

I've never sold anything on there, but I have bought a few items on there. Never had a issue so far, but seems lot like backpage.

When buying on this, or any other sight, I have no problem asking for more detailed pictures. In fact, if the seller can't, or won't provide them, it's a clear sign that they are trying to hide something or are just to lazy to take the time. My God, how hard is it to take a picture? Duh

It would seem like a reasonable ask, especially with how small the resolution is on the Armslist photos, and how you can only post three photos. Regardless of where it's posted, if they are too lazy to send some photos your way, they're probably not the kind of person you want to be dealing with.

So, the last time I sold, backpage was it. Besides armslist, any opinions on other sites to sell locally these days? I haven't posted enough to WTS here, I think...
