Going home today I had to go past 3 different car accidents.

No telling what happened but I’ve been doing this route a while and it seems there has been one every day for the past few weeks.

Can’t wait for “wrong way driver season”

They're not accidents, they're "incidents of stupid", normally called "negligence". And yes, the stupid is getting worse.

Have a great, gun carryin', Kenpo day

I know before entering intersection when it goes green I count 1....2......3.... to give the red light runners their shot.

California transplants maybe?

That will trigger someone

In my area, we see an accident almost every day.
Cali transplants blame Queen Creek amd San Tan Valley locals in a facebook group... but then we never had this problem before they invaded...

Younger drivers with little to no experience mixed with cell phone distractions are a potent combo for stupid.

Try riding a motorcycle for a day and you will notice all the drivers with their noses buried in a cell phone.

Just drover (well wife did) from Oro Valley to Phoenix yesterday. As I was riding as navigator/shotgun, was my job to observe and advise. Wife is not cool being around all those semi trucks.

Biggest issue i saw was left lane bandits, and impatient drivers frustrated to get around them.
I blame transplants that grew up driving city freeways where all lanes were up for grabs. You were not moving, so what difference which lane?

Pointed out to my wife that slow drivers are not safer, but cause unsafe driving from others trying to get past them. After miles of watching this in action, I think she sees my point.

mea culpa: Where it me driving, I would certainly be one of the impatient ones.

The problem boils down to people not paying attention. If people would simply drive and pay attention to driving we’d all be better off.

Cell phones, texting, left lane hogs, slow drivers, people not know ahead where they are going, and California transplants.

Something that is getting really bad is left lane turning cars going at the same time as oncoming right hand turners thinking that if they stick to the far left lane it’s okay to turn at the same time.

Do yourself a favor and invest in a front and rear dash cam.

When we first got our insurance set up the lady told us that the overall drivers in Arizona suck (her words) and that there are many uninsured drivers compared to other states (illegals). She was pretty open about it.

You all are saying Phoenix is getting worse?

I have driven over 2.5 million miles as a CDL driver, no tickets or accidents, I have seen a hell a lot of them though, and had plenty of close calls. It has gotten far worse since cell phones have become a factor. It is remarkable how many people are distracted by the stupid device.

100% about the cell phones!

I haven't lived in the PHX metro are in over a decade but here in Tucson a huge issue is people who don't have their headlights on. Certain color vehicles around dusk are practically invisible. You have your lights on not to see but to be seen. Then there are the morons driving flat out in the dark with no headlights on. Usually in a shitty, flat black spray bombed Honda that sounds like a lawn mower. I just assume the POS car's lights don't work because the moron did something trying to hook up a new stereo so the car can go "boom-boom".
