I am thinking about getting a 45 Cal suppressor. Does anyone have suggestions or opinions on what would be best for less then $800.00. I want to use it on a 45 and a 9mm.
Thanks
Thom

I have an Octane 45, and Octane 9 and a TiRant 9. Based on comparisons between the two 9mm cans and my experience with the Octane 45, I would not recommend it. Between the TiRant and the Octane 9mm's, the TiRant is lighter, quieter and has noticeably less blowback/back pressure. When shooting pistol, excessive blowback means crap gets sprayed back in your face. It's barely noticeable when shooting the TiRant, very noticeable with the Octane. My Octane 9 now lives full time on a 9mm AR. I will probably eventually get one of the modular TiRant 45s, and retire the Octane 45 to a PCC as well. In my opinion, the only advantage the Octane has is easier cleaning due to all steel baffles. Not a big deal unless you shoot cast bullets or use it on a 22lr.

I have a SiCo Osprey45 and it's nice and light and quiet. Haven't shot it next to any other 45 cans, but I can easily shoot it without earpro

I have a few different cans, but one that works pretty well at a good price point is the YHM Sidewinder .45, picked one up for under $500 (not including $200 tax stamp). It's hearing safe and haven't needed ear plugs when firing.

Osprey is pretty nice. I have only used it on 9mm so far.
The shape allows use of some OEM height sights.

Have shot a friends Silencerco Hybrid can and it sounded great. Not to mention the caliber modularity(my word). I also like the secure mounts that it uses. Plus if you ever use it for 300blk you are not limited to subsonic rounds only, the Octane cans are.
